Hajno, The Albanian-Greek Technical Commission will convene in Ioannina, Greece, on Monday to discuss several projects of the cross-border region, sources close to the Sarande district Council reported on Sunday. Besides government representatives attending the meeting will be officials from Vlore and Gjirokaster as well as representatives of the Sarande and Permet district councils, the sources said. According to the chairman of this council, Thoma Papagjika, "the aim of the Ioannina meeting will be to discuss implementation of the cross-border projects for building the Qafe Bote-Sarande road and the construction of Tri Urat on the border area of Perment". The bid for the technical project of the Qafe Bote-Sarande road, 35 km. long, has been won by the Greek firm "Prizma", which is envisaged to end within October this year. The Qafe Bote - Sarande road, the construction of the customs compound of Qafe Bote, as well as the construction of Tri Urat in Permet were included in the cross-border projects financed by the EU five years, through the Cross-Border programme. This programme mainly encourages investments in infrastructure in the states bordering EU states. /lh/lm/
