		NAAC Seminar Provides Refugees with Overview of How to
Start and Operate a Business

		Washington, DC, December 15, 2003: The National Albanian
American Council (NAAC) issued the following statement regarding the
NAAC sponsored business seminars held on December 11th at the Morris
Park Community Association Center in the Bronx.  An Albanian version of
the release follows at the end of this text:

		Albanian refugees and asylees from New York City
attended a business seminar sponsored by the National Albanian American
Council (NAAC) on December 11th at the Morris Park Community Association
Center in the Bronx to learn about the Refugee Micro-enterprise
Development Project, a federal program that is designed to assist
immigrants of special status with various business needs.

		NAAC representatives, successful entrepreneurs and
corporate lawyers and accountants were at hand to speak about market
research, business structures, insurance, taxation, financing and
strategic planning.  

		 James D. Christo of the Robert Christo & Associates law
firm went over the different aspects of each business set-up, such as
Sole Proprietorship, General Partnership, Limited Partnership, Limited
Liability Company, Corporation, which includes both a "C" Corporations
and an "S" Corporation.  

		Mr. Christo listed the "pro's" and "con's" of each type
of business structure listed above, 
		underlining the importance of doing things legally,
especially with regards to contracts; registering, licensing, and
permits; control; multi-state business; strict conformity; capital;
variety of entities; autonomy; tax; and liability.

		Ardian Gjuraj of Morgan Stanley gave tips on the basic
concepts of business start-up with consideration from the legal, tax and
business aspects.  In addition to providing general information on how
to start a business, Mr. Gjuraj compared various forms of enterprises
form from the taxation point of view.  He emphasized the importance of
assessing the business idea first, thinking long-term, and drafting a
business plan.
		  
		NAAC has partnered up with the Business Outreach Center
(BOC) Network through the Refugee Micro-enterprise Development Project,
which is funded by the Office for Refugee Resettlement, to lend a
helping hand to refugees and asylees in pursuit of financial
independence.

		The services offered by the NAAC and BOC Network include
pre-loan and post-loan technical assistance, workshops and training,
business start-up/expansion assistance, access to financing, business
plan development, grant for low-income entrepreneurs, management
assistance, access to legal assistance, market research/strategies,
licensing and permit information.

		The recent business seminar was part of a series of free
workshops that is being carried out on a regular basis in the New York
City boroughs with large Albanian communities.

		NAAC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to

		Seminari i KKSHA-së informon refugjatët mbi hapjen dhe
menaxhimin e biznesit

		Washington, DC, 15 dhjetor 2003: Këshilli Kombëtar
Shqiptaro Amerikan (KKSHA/NAAC) lëshoi këtë deklaratë në lidhje me
seminarin që mbajti më 11 dhjetor në Bronx për t'i dhënë komunitetit
shqiptar informacion në lidhje me hapjen e biznesit të ri dhe menaxhimin
më mirë të bizneseve ekzistuese.

		Refugjatë dhe azilantë shqiptarë morën pjesë në një
seminar të organizuar nga Këshilli Kombëtar Shqiptaro Amerikan (KKSHA)
më 11 dhjetor në Bronx ku u informuan mbi Projektin e Zhvillimit të
Biznesit të Refugjatit, një program federal që synon të plotësojë nevoja
të ndryshme të emigrantëve me status të veçantë. 

		Përfaqësues të KKSHA, sipërmarrës të sukseshëm dhe
avokatë e llogaritarë korporatash dhanë informata mbi hulumtimin e
tregut, strukturat e ndryshme të biznesit, siguracionin, taksimin,
financimin dhe planifikimin strategjik.

		Avokati James D. Christo nga firma Robert Christo &
Associates foli mbi aspektet e ndryshme të secilit model biznesi, si
biznesi me një pronar, partneriteti i përgjithshëm, partneriteti i
kufizuar, shoqëria me përgjegjësi të kufizuar, etj.

		Z. Christo renditi “pozitivet” dhe “negativet” e secilit
model biznesi, duke nënvizuar rëndësinë e të vepruarit ligjërisht
sidomos përsa i përket kontratave, regjistrimit, licensimit, lejeve,
taksave, përgjegjësive ligjore, etj.

		Ardian Gjuraj nga banka e njohur Morgan Stanley dha
këshilla mbi konceptet themelore të hapjes së një bizensi nga
pikëvështrimet e taksave dhe strukturave ligjore.  Përveç dhënies së
informacionit të përgjithshëm, z. Gjuraj krahasoi forma të ndryshme
biznesi.  Ai theksoi rëndësinë e peshimit të ideve në fillim, të të
menduarit për një të ardhme të largët dhe formulimin e një plani
biznesi.

		KKSHA ka hyrë në partneritet me Qendrën e Rrjetit të
Biznesit (QRrB) në kuadër të Projektit të Zhvillimit të Biznesit të
Refugjatit për t’u ardhur në ndihmë refugjatëve dhe azilantëve shqiptarë
që synojnë të arrijnë pavarësi financiare.
		  
		Shërbimet që ofrohen nga KKSHA dhe QRrB përfshijnë
asistencë teknike para dhe pas marrjes së kredisë bankare, seminare
përgatitore, ndihmë në hapjen dhe zgjerimin e biznesit, financim,
formulimin e planit të biznesit, etj.

		Aktiviteti i fundit në Bronx është pjesë e një serie
seminaresh përgatitore që KKSHA po mban rregullisht nëpër lagjet e
Manhattan-it me popullsi të konsiderueshme shqiptare.
