BALAKLAVA hosts a BENEFIT for ARS: a literary magazine from
Kosovo.

Poet and translator, Lynn Levin, is the author of two
collections of poems, Imaginarium (Loonfeather Press, 2005)
and A Few Questions About Paradise (Loonfeather Press,
2000). The Forest, a collection of Lynn Levin's
translations of poems by the Albanian novelist, essayist,
poet, and diplomat Besnik Mustafaj, was published by Poetry
Miscellany Chapbooks in 2001. Besnik Mustafaj is currently
Minister of Foreign Affairs fof The Republic of Albania.
Lynn Levin's poems have appeared in Boulevard, Hunger
Mountain, Margie, The North American Review, The Nebraska
Review, The Poetry Miscellany, Hanging Loose, The Ledge,
One Trick Pony, and other places. She teaches at the
University of Pennsylvania and at Drexel University, where
she is also executive producer of the cable TV show, The
Drexel InterView.

Erica Weitzman learned Albanian while working in Kosovo for
the NGO Balkan Sunflowers from February 2000 to June 2001.
Last year she wrote a monthly column for the Kosovo-based
literary magazine Ars, featuring interviews with
contemporary American poets, and has recently completed a
translation of  Kosovar poet Valentina Saraçini’s first
collection of poetry, entitled Dreaming Escape. Erica’s own
poems have been published in 6x6, Cabin Fever, and The
Dudley Review. She is currently a graduate student in the
Comparative Literature department at NYU.

Ana Bozicevic-Bowling is a Croatian poet living in NYC and
writing in English. Her poems and translations can be found
in 6x6, Eucalyptus, LIT, The New York Quarterly, 
Redivider, Three Candles and other journals. She edits
RealPoetik, an online poetry magazine. A chapbook titled
Morning News is forthcoming in March '06 from Kitchen
Press.
