Milosevic puts Belgrade villa on the market Wed Nov 2, 5:57 AM ET


BELGRADE (Reuters) - Former Serbian leader     Slobodan Milosevic is selling 
his villa in Belgrade's upscale Dedinje district, adjacent to the official 
residence that     NATO bombed in 1999, a Serbian daily said on Wednesday.

The ex-president of Yugoslavia is now in the fourth year of his trial at the 
     United Nations war crimes tribunal in     The Hague, where he is in 
jail, charged with genocide for atrocities in the Croatia, Bosnia and     
Kosovo wars.

The Glas Javnosti newspaper quoted unnamed sources as saying Milosevic 
wanted 500,000 euros (340.000 pounds) for the house, next to the 
presidential mansion hit by a U.S. cruise missile when the West bombed 
Serbia to force its withdrawal from the province of Kosovo.

The paper said Milosevic originally bought the property for 10,000 
Deutschmarks (5,000 euros).

today's washington post reports that the CIA maintains lawless torture sites 
in 8 countries, including Thailand, Afghanistan and eastern european ones 
that senior US officials asked the Post not to name.

from previous stories i've posted here, including that of poor Khaled 
El-Masri, it should be fairly certain that Albania and Macedonia are on that 
list, and perhaps Kosova as well. I agree with those CIA officers who feel 
this 'Black Site" program is both deeply immoral and unsustainable, and 
would add that its also preposterously bad for US security interests.

How? let me put bluntly: part of the reason the US got involved in the 
Balkans was to improve it's image in the Muslim world as the genocide in 
Bosnia was happening *with the help of US warships blocking arms shipments 
to Bosnia, per Milosevic's UNSC request in 10/91*. All this while European 
diplomats spoke at every public and private turn of their contempt for the 
Bosnian struggle against annihilation. The idea was that white, european 
muslims would be most easily metabolized by The West and the region makes a 
good place to build a bridge to the larger Muslim World. **Stupid Shit like 
these "black sites" endangers that perfectly by making Al Qaeda recruitment 
easier**. Nothing kills US and Western credibility better than torturing, 
murdering and/or 'disappearing' innocent people like Mr. Masri and who knows 
how many others!

This may suit those who desire a total Conflict of Civilizations, but for me 
racial/ethnic profiling is already intolerable! Who wants to see the kind of 
Big Brother Techno-tyranny that would result when large pools of every 
racial group are motivated to attack the West?!

Besides Milosevic, Serbianna.com and other Christian and Islamic 
expansionists, i can segueway to those Jewish fundamentalists who also 
desire such a conflagration. These nutty jews have great responsibility for 
the long-term and insidious entropy of middle-east politics as they do NOt 
want moderate arabs and muslims to flourish, they need the pretext for Total 
War to fulfill Genesis' (1:15 is it?) claim of "Eretz Y'srael"...which would 
include large chunks of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and 
Egypt. no discussion of Israel's founding or current relations can be 
complete without elaborating on this destabilizing element. They are part of 
the reason Israel was founded in Palestine, rather than a chunk of Germany 
being divested to a European Jewish state after WWII. (Didn't the prince of 
Sweden get assassinated for suggesting just that?). Of course casual racism 
and British postwar dysfunction also helped make Palestine the easy choice 
for The West.

NEVERTHELESS...there is now a nuclear-armed and financially well-supported 
Jewish client-state in the region. If Israel learns to control it's own 
psychotic apocalypticist movement it may even succeed in detente and peace 
with it's neighbors. Albania and an independent Kosova will both have a 
clear stake in good relations with it and The West, and with respect to 
Erica and Antigona, it's simply childish to assume otherwise. Do you propose 
that Kosova and Albania reject the USA for the Middle Passage (15-60 million 
murdered Africans), Western Expansion (25-100 million murdered Native 
Americans) and lack of slavery reperations? hell, name me the country that 
Albs COULD have relations with? OF COURSE THE WORLD SHOULD PUSH FOR A JUST 
SETTLEMENT OF THE MID-EAST CONFLICT, and I certainly haven't forgotten Ariel 
Sharon's shit-eating warning to The West in '99 that "defending Kosova will 
establish an Islamic fundamentalist-expansionist state on European soil". 
But *get real*, we have to work with the rest of the world. Albania and 
Kosova might even be extra helpful in that regard, given our fairly 
exemplary record of "Muslim Jewspitality" during WWII...

Anyway, Pirro, i'd have replied sooner but i've sensed a slight touch of 
snootiness of your part lately, so i enjoyed letting u hang out there ;)

I am writing this despite everything that my good senses tell me but I'll 
not be too kind this time so I won't share too much.  I trust you won't make 
such statments about accomplished persons such as Noli just because you read 
a damn book or two.  While I did not read Puto's book, I think it is fairly 
well excepted that Noli did lead the Albanian delegation in the League of 
Nation when Albania was admitted to this organization in 1920, which does 
offcially make him a diplomat.  However, as I noted a person can be a much 
more effective diplomat through accomplishmets in the real world, whether 
they be in poetry, science, or whatever. Of course, I say this without 
taking anything away from Konica.

Generally, I prefer to stay on the positive side but I tell you, when it 
comes to the jokers I mentioned, it is all bad. There are other people in 
Kosova besides those though so it's not all bad.

March what?! You mean the events that lead to the death of 19 people most of 
which were Albanians; the events that lead to the burning of Serbian homes, 
all of which are being rebulit from the budget of the government of Kosova.  
While it is hard to excuse these types of events, do I need to remind you of 
what the Albanian population of Kosova has been through?! Almost a million 
refugees and about 12,000 dead in about three months, and who knows how many 
homes burned and were vandalised with no one to pay for their rebuiding.  
There were people that lost everthing they owned, even worse they lost their 
family members and they came home to see Serbs being guarded in Kosova while 
they had to live in burned homes.  Let me just point out, that if something 
like that happened to me, March 19 would seem like a party.  Out of 12,000 
that died or thousands that lost homes, how many people went on a killing 
sprees or bombed Serb homes!  See it is easy to put labels on people such as 
IMMATURE or anything else but living through such things gives you a 
different prespective.

One thing we do agree on is that Kosova should be recognized as an 
independent state by Israel and other countries.

One thing we should not mistake is me selling myself as an enlightened 
fellow. I've piled on enough years in this world to learn that those 
claiming to be "enlightened" have either not accomplished enough to satisfy 
their egos or they just need to put the pipe down.  Go back and read what I 
said, get a sense of humor, and then you'll see that I wrote "political 
science" which as we all know comes a little short of real science. 
Seriously though relax, my point was that we should inform the youth that 
they can serve their country just as well by writing books on issues they 
are experts on rather then writing books on other books they have read. The 
'I know best!' or the 'Albanian traditional arrogance. . .pseudo-communist' 
I'll ignore that since it irritates me.

Diplomacy is very important and even I realize this.  However, we seem to 
differ in what constitutes efficient diplomacy.  I prefer to think people 
should get work at what they do best and if called upon they can serve their 
country.  What they should stay away from is getting degrees with hopes of 
becoming "ambassadors" or "presidents" or "members of parliment" if for 
nothing else because that shit numbs the mind.

You clearly seem to be one of those self-chosen people who will lead the way for the rest of us blind, you're the smartest and most pragmatic one,  everyone else knows nothing and you know everything - This is the only way I can explain your arrogance an pompousness. 
 
But let me also say that this form of arrogance is a result of a provincial background (or as we like to call it Anadollakism) mixed with sentiments of inferiority, is the story of a little boy who went to America, went to school and is now the smartest of all the people in his little village and this accumulation of knowledge needs to be constantly shoved in people's faces (only if it were all genuine!) these are the sources of perpetual lack of modesty. Only if Roberto Benin would have known the Anadollak little boy story - what a motion picture would have that been!
 
My most sincere regards to you my Kosovar friend! There must be some truth in the myths of cultural characteristics after all, is the only way I can understand your enormous ego and gigantic attitude.

Wow you still keep mistaking me for your friend. . . well since this is not 
our personal forum will have to stop soon. I thought we were taking about 
Kosova and here you go making me the topic of the forum.  I suspect though 
that most persons reading this forum couldn't care less about me, my story 
or even my personality trades.

Now, so if you insist on labeling me, try something more hip such as "bad 
ass or gorilla in the flesh."  If I am going down as arrogant, my vanity 
will not let me go down as lame too. On the other hand, from the use of 
lables such as "arrogant," "pompous," "little boy who went to America, went 
to school and is now the smartest of all the people in his little village," 
"enormous ego and gigantic attitude," well if I didn't know better I'd think 
you are trying to hurt my feelings.

Since I live in the States being the smartest in the village would mean a 
lot but I care more about being sexy so until People's magazine names me the 
sexiest person alive I don't worry much about the rest (and please don't 
comment on this further!).

Don't worry though, I'll be a good sport and take the personal attacks and 
insults, the arrogance buffers those fairly well.  However, it might serve 
you and the this forum better if you correct or at least address my 
reasoning rather than my person. And if you want to publize my story or 
recommend someone to do so, I will not agree to anyone else short of Francis 
Ford Coppola, Speilberg, or maybe the Wachowski Brothers; Johny Deep or Val 
Kilmer can play me.

Parashqevia eshte nga kengetaret me kot qe ka pas ndonjehere Shqiperia.  Snobiste
ekstreme dhe komplet e falimentuar.  A e mbani mend kur erdhi atehere ne Shqiperi mbasi
kishte nja dy vjet ne Amerike, dhe na tha qe ishte bere e famshme ne Hollywood?  Pastaj u
diskretitua kur u be nje dokumentar rreth jetes se saj, dhe doli se ajo thjesht ishte
takur me disa "celebrity" dhe skishte kurrfare lidhje me hollywoodin.  Repertitori i saj

Every year, the Society for Neuroscience provides the premier venue for  
neuroscientists around the world to share their research findings.    The 
Society's annual meeting will be held   in Washington DC from  November 12 -16. I was 
wondering if any albanian will be attending this  convention  either as a 
scientist, post doc or as a PhD student   .

Natyra,

I will attend the SfN meeting in DC, as a recently appointed faculty memebr. 
  I'll be presenting part of my work I think on the 16th.  You can search 
for my abstract on the Society for Neuroscience webpage by authors last name 
(so just search for Belegu). Unless, I get too tired I'll be communting back 
and forth from Baltimore to DC during the meeting so if you are interested 
in the work presented in that abstract you can come by and visit my lab.

Will you be at the meeting and if so will you be presenting something?
