Discussion to follow.) Columbia University Room 1219 IAB (International Affairs Building) When NATO's troops advanced over the border to Kosova in the summer of 1999, it became possible to investigate and document war crimes committed during the campaign of ethnic cleansing that the Serbian authorities had instigated. Together with forensic pathologists and technicians from Kosova's Commission for the Missing, Maria Warsinski followed the work to identify victims of the war and uncover evidence for future war crimes trials. Every day in Kosova, she met people who told their dramatic stories of how they fled persecution and massacres, and how they saw their loved ones taken away. Many of these people are still searching for their relatives and friends. Others are helping the pathologists with the identification of family members. The film documents this grim reality for three months during the summer and autumn of 1999, resulting in a documentary that is a testimony of what happened in Kosova from March until July 1999. Maria Warsinski will be attend the screening. Albanian with English subtitles 58 minutes Maria Warsinski's earlier documentary "Crimes and Punishment - War Crimes in Srebrenica" (1995) was shown at the Human Rights Watch Film Festival in New York City in June, 1999.
