RE: USAID position.

BIG TIP:  if you make the first cut and they ask for a phone interview, READ
THE USAID WEB SITE ON JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS.  All the stuff they want you
to say is on that site and available on the web.  You don't have to live by
it once you get here, but it really helps to know what they are looking for.

There is also a job on the USAID/Honduras running the housing projects.  I am
doing that right now and would be happy to speak to people about this one as
well.

A. Basic Function of Position

  The contractor shall serve as the Team Leader for the activities
under the "Strengthened Rule of Law and Respect for Human Rights"
Results Package 4.1 (RP4.1), which includes the following two projects:
Strengthened Rule of Law and Respect for Human Rights (522-0394) and
Strengthening Democratic Institutions (522-0296).  The contractor shall
be responsible for overall management of approximately $9 million in
program support, technical assistance and training activities to be
implemented over a five-year period.  Both of these projects are
directed at improving the administrative operation of the court system;
creating a viable prosecution (new to Honduras); assisting the court
system in making the transition to oral, adversarial trial procedures;
and creating civil society support for judicial reforms.
