ALBANIAN FLAG DAY CELEBRATION - OUR COLLECTIVE MIRROR AND MEMORY

This joyous gathering, on the occasion of the Flag Day celebration, 
is a chance to see ourselves in a collective mirror;  In it each of us
reflects not only an individual image, but also an image of the country
of our origin - Albania.

We are an expression, a sample and example of our Albanian language,
culture and heritage.

We are not only who we are now, but also who we were in the past
and who we will become in the future.

We believe that the bridges to the future cannot be built by destroying 
the bridges of the past.

As our identity evolves, we hope that the Albanian community 
in Washington State, and, for that matter, the Albanian American
community across the USA, will find its true, authentic voice
and share its rich heritage with its newly found home - 
- with American society at large, by giving its unique
voice, color and flavor to a wonderful tapestry of common bonds
of humanity.

We hope that Albania and Albanians around the world will regain
their balance and unite in their common cause for freedom,
democracy, and prosperity. And thus find their rightfully deserved
place in modern Europe and modern world in the new century
and the new millennium.

I am an American and have in the past year located the "Boy in the Yellow Jumper" seen on television and news magazines around the world after the accidental attack on the refugee convoy by NATO aircraft on 14 April 1999.
I am sure that now there is an operating post office in Gjakova.  Can anyone tell me if there is a post office operating in Junik, Dobrosh, Brovine, or Plancor.

For Kosovars living in the United States, can you tell me about how letters are going to Kosova, since hte US Post Service doesn't have Kosova as a country.

Hi there is there anyone out there in western Kosovo, Morine to be precise. I am ateacher who will be visiting Greece  in January. I have two days to play with and I am trying to put togeher  ajourney to discover the fate of a friend Xhafer Fetahu. I am pretty sure he was murdered by our friends but I want to find out what truth there is to find out. He lived just off the Gjakove - Peja road VERY close to the Albanian border and close to a Yugoslav army camp! He was a teacher of English and had a brother in Switzerland. Anyone know him? Any advice would be welcome but I intend getting a bus to Gjakove from Skopje and then, well find some way to travel the 10 or so kms to Morine. Can anyone help, support me?
