REQUEST FOR INFORMATION BY DUTCH DOCUMENTARY MAKERS

Dear Members


We are Remco van der Kruk and Wilco Leene from the Netherlands and we are two young, curious and serious journalists working for national television broadcasting companies, public as well as commercial. We are making a series of documentaries on Eastern-Europe, most recently about Romania.

As a result from our research we found your address and we hope you can mean something for us. Our plan is to visit Tirana in februari to make some portraits for television of interesting people related to the Revolution and changing events in the period of 1990-1991. 

The people we are looking for, can be ordinary people, but must be able to tell us human stories which are illustrative for the changes of the country since then. We like to talk to people for whom the Revolution has made deep impact on their personal lives and go back with them to the most important spots for their stories. 

This can be for various reasons, for example the loss of relatives, dangerous situations, personal struggle in ordinary life, the desire for freedom, frustration because of the system, etc.

Our plan is to keep it very simple, we want to make these portraits with as little equipment as possible, meaning one small digital television camera and some audio equipment and just ourselves.

To achieve this we need some support and we hope you can help us with that. For example, it would help us a lot if we could have contact with somebody who knows where to find the right persons in Tirana, and/or somebody who can 'guide' us during our stay. We're working on this program day by day now and we hope to hear from you soon. 

Whether you can help us or not, in the light of our interest in your fascinating country, it would be great and meaningful to start a dialogue and even maybe visit you when we come.
