Dear Isa,
        I had intended to reply sooner, and events may have overtaken some
of the things I meant to say, but here goes.  It is likely no one is
responding to current event/political messages because my understanding of
this list is that it is an academic list--for the study of Albania and
things and people Albanian.  For current events you might try lists such as
ALBANEWS run by Mentor Cana at the following address:
cana at ece.stevens-tech.edu  If you write to him, he will subscribe you and
I'm sure that he and other members of the list can suggest other lists too.
Secondly, I meant to comment on the Western European and American attitude
toward Kosovo, but I think last weekend's horrors have changed that
attitude and focus yet again.  I sincerely hope that this time some sort of
positive action based on a general concern for human rights rather than
political interests comes out of it before more innocent people have to
die.
