LABERI, MAJAT ME CIKA
Me te ecuren karakteristike, veshtrimin krenar e
pamjen e ashper "rebelet" e festivalit, pushtojne
skenen.
Vlores, Sarandes e Delvines kane percjelle 20 numra
artistike duke bere qe kalaja te ushtoje per 120
minuta nga zerat e burrave te Laberise.
Nje melodi e embel me fyell krijon atmosfere idilike
i grupit te Terbacit, ekzekuton kengen "Memedheu",
duke celur mozaikun e polifonise. "Megjithese
ndryshme. Kjo shpjegon edhe numrin e madh te
pjesmarresve, pasi nje grup nuk interpreton dot ison e
tjetrit", shpjegon udheheqesi artistik i grupit te
Qakut te Vlores, Vait Kuci. Grupet dhe kengetaret e
njohur i lene vendin njeri tjetrit. Kenge epike dhe
lirike, zera te ngrohte e te plote, nje grup me iso te
shtruar e te qete, nje tjeter me iso te ashper, larima
skene.
Najram Hunda, Hysni Kapo e Taire Bozhani, treshja e
interpretuar kengen "Telat vene e vine", ndersa notat
lirike kane ardhe se pari nga grupi i Velces ne kengen
"Kumbulla, moj kumbulla". Grupet e Mavroves, Tragjasit
e grupi "Bilbili" i Vlores ndiqen nga interpretimi i
grupit "Dea" te Sarandes qe ka sjelle kengen "O moj
dardha dimerore". Folklori i treves se Camerise ka
ardhur ne skene
permes valles se vajzave te grupit cam te Vlores.
Kostumet e tyre te vecana dhe interpretimi elegant,
plot hijeshi e finese ka zbritur ne Gjirokaster
magjine folklorike te kesaj treve. Por ajo qe ka
dominuar ne programin artistik te ketij grupi kane
qene kenget dhe elementet epike.
Ketu ne vendet e mia
Ku dhe Zoti vjen i ftuar
Mbreteron vetem liria.
Kjo eshte Himara qe thone / diell dhe dete shqiponje.
Nje flamur kombetar shpaloset ne skene, grupi i
Himares percjell vargjet e kenges: "Une jam Damjan i
Kristo Cipa e Leni Cali.
"C'ka ky djale qe ma ben me dore" prezantoi kengen
qytetare vlonjate, ndersa rrethi i Delvines eshte
paraqitur me "Djemte e Delvines" dhe grupin "Kaonia"
qe interpretuan kenget "Engjell i miresise" dhe "C'u
prish Lekuresi i shkrete". Hyne me gjemim e dalin me
gjemim nga skena, per kete eshte preferuar qe mbyllja
e programit te behet me vallen e kenduar "Laberi,
majat me cika" ekzekutuar nga grupi i burrave te
Zvernecit.

DEAR ENEMY
Mon Oct 4, 3:42 PM ET
?Reviews - Variety
Deborah Young
An old-fashioned wartime story with warmhearted
characters and (as the title suggests) ironic paradox,
"Dear Enemy" feels like a throwback to an earlier era
of film and television. While history certainly
supplies enough narrative fuel here, pic's slogan,
"Yesterday's enemy is today's friend" doesn't make for
very exciting storytelling, and this Euro
co-production by director Gjergi Xhuvani ("Slogans")
fails to bring anything sufficiently new to warrant
attention beyond the immediate region.
?
In 1943 Albania, Italy's surrender brings chaos and
looting in its wake, as troops are replaced by German
soldiers. Grocer Harun Bonata agrees to hide a wounded
Italian soldier on his farm, where a wounded Albanian
partisan is already sheltered. These two strange
bedfellows have little interaction, however, before
they are joined by a fugitive Jewish watchmaker. When
Harun lands a contract to furnish soap to the German
army, they all pitch in to make the stuff. A German
officer surprisingly turns out to be a decent
Christian and becomes a regular visitor at the
farmhouse, where he chats up Harun's Austrian
sister-in-law. A fourth fugitive ends up in the cellar
before the war ends, but by then, most viewers will
have lost count.

Conference of European Churches condemns violence
against Orthodox community in Albania
??? PRAGUE (ANA) -- The Central Committee of the
Conferences of European Churches (CEC) has expressed
its concern over the recent "acts of aggression", as
it stated, in Albania against the Orthodox Church
there.
???
??? According to press release issued by the CEC
following its meetings in Prague between Sept. 27 and
Oct. 3, ?it is with great anxiety that we have heard
about the series of aggressive acts that have happened
against the Orthodox Church in Albania. Some of these
acts included: the blowing up of a cross-bell tower in
Tzara; the looting of an Orthodox youth camp and
student facilities around the Monastery of St. George
(Aghios Georgios) in Saranda; and the eviction of the
Orthodox community from an old church building in
Permet.?
???
??? The CEC added that its committee members shared
their concerns and protests for such violent acts with
Archbishop of Tirana and All Albania Anastasios,
himself a CEC vice-president.
???
??? "We appeal to the Albanian authorities to continue
to respect religious freedom in the country and to
protect all religious communities," the press release
concluded.

Subject: [ALBSA-Info] Albanian Helsinki Committee - Greek Helsinki Monitor
Message-ID: <20041007164939.44435.qmail@web11506.mail.yahoo.com>
TIRANA SEPTEMBER 15,? 2004
Press Report
About the joint press conference of the Greek
Helsinki Monitor and the Albanian Helsinki Committee,
in Thessalonica?
Today, on September, 15. 2004, at 11.30 hours, there
was held a joint press conference of the Greek
Helsinki Monitor and the Albanian Helsinki Committee
at the Balkan Center "Media" in Thessalonica, The
conference had the participation of the Executive
Director of the Albanian Helsinki Committee Ms.??
Vasilika Hysi and Mr. Panayote Dimitras,
representative of the Greek Helsinki Group and Ferhat
Ceka, one of the victims of maltreatment on the part
of the Greek Cross- border Police. The representatives
of the Greek Helsinki Monitor and the Albanian
Helsinki Committee will be present at the judicial
proceeding.
The pres conference was held one day prior to the
criminal trial in the Military Criminal Court of
Thessalonica against the Greek military authorities.
This is the very first court of this kind, held
against the violence used towards Mr. Ceka on March,
8, of the year 2002.
In the press release, Mr Dimitras voiced his revolt
related to some facts that have been interpreted as
discriminatory acts towards Mr. Ceka, such as the
difficulty of Mr Ceka in having a visa to testify in
the court.
As a result of a previous accident that Mr. Ceka had,
he is now an invalid and has difficulties while
walking. Despite this, he has not been provided with a
facilitating transport means in the airport of Athens,
meanwhile this service has been provided for a Greek
national.
Afterwards Ms. Vasilika Hysi, Executive Director of
the Albanian Helsinki Committee took the floor. In her
speech, after thanking the present media, she
expressed the commitment of the Albanian Helsinki
Committee in cooperation with the Greek Helsinki
Monitor to denounce the cases of the maltreatment of
the Albanian migrants from the Greek law enforcement
officials.
In her speech, Ms. Hysi expressed the concern about
xenophobia and albanophobia on the part of Greek
citizens towards the Albanian migrants. 'Albanian
Helsinki Committee will never support migrants that
commit crimes, on the contrary in this aspect they
should be taken to the court, but always this should
be done by respecting the rights recognized and
prescribed in the international instruments and the
Greek legislation.? Cases of the maltreatment of the
migrants are still ongoing' said Ms. Hysi. In this
context she highlighted the recent tragic cases that
occurred in Greece, such as the case of? Luan
Berdellima (dead from the maltreatment made by the
Greek police) as well as the case of Gramoz Palushi
(killed days ago in the island of Zakinto in Greece)
Ms. Hysi voiced her concern about the cases of the
maltreatment of the Albanian migrants at the border,
as well as the other flagrant cases of the violation
of their rights in the judicial proceedings as well
more severe punishment to Albanians than to Greeks for
the same criminal offences. Moreover, Ms Hysi
mentioned other cases of the violation of human rights
as the? sentencing of the Albanians in Greece without
the presence of a defence lawyer, providing an
interpreter having no knowledge of the Albanian
language, etc.
Ms. Hysi pointed out that Albania and Greece share
many things in common. The Albanian migrants in Greece
and the Greek minority in Albania should serve as
linking bridges and not as?? splitting bridges between
the peoples. She stated that the court being held the
coming day is the first trial versus the Greek state
and it would serve to minimize the cases of the
maltreatment of the Albanian migrants in Greece.
Later on Mr. Ferhat Ceka took the floor and explained
the occurrence. Media was interested as regards the
fact what Mr Cek. was going to ask in the hearing of
the coming day. Mr. Ceka made known that he would ask
the punishment of the culprits as well as material,
moral and psychological? damages.

Episodi 3, tani kryqi n? Lushnj?
I thyhet pllaka. Banor?t e Stanit: Dyshojm?
p?r ??shtje pron?sie
?
Sokrat Ndre?ka
LUSHNJE
t? majt? t? aksit nacional Lushnj?-Berat.
Kryqi i lart? 10 metra dhe i gjer? 6 metra ?sht?
ngritur q? n? vitin 1997, n? fshatin
Stan-Karbunar?, por dit?t e fundit, persona
ende t? paidentifikuar kan? thyer pllak?n e
mermerit, t? vendosur q? nga nd?rtimi i
kryqit. Disa k?rc?nime t? marra prej koh?sh kan?
l?n? q? t? dyshohet p?r nj? ??shtje
pron?sie, megjithat? banor?t e fshatit k?mb?ngulin
Kryqi
gjigand ?sht? nd?rtuar disa metra larg kish?s
s? fshatit, n? nj? vend ku p?rfaq?suesit e
saj thon? se ka qen? prej koh?sh pron? e
kish?s s? Sh?n Kollit. ?Aty kan? ardhur disa
shenjtor? dhe prej vitesh njer?zit jan? falur
dhe kan? ndezur qirinj. Ka qen? e shkruar q?
aty t? ngrihet kryqi?, pohon at Arkip Ko?i.
Sipas tij, kryqi ?sht? ngritur n? vitin 1997, me
iniciativ? t? shoqat?s s? vlleh?ve dhe
mir?kuptim t? t? gjith? fshatit
Stan-Karbunar?.
Ky fshat, i cili ndodhet pran? rrug?s komb?tare
Lushnj?-Berat, ka rreth 2500 banor?, pjesa m?
e madhe e t? cil?ve jan? vlleh dhe i p?rkasin
fes? ortodokse. Para viteve 1990, fshati
num?ronte pak sht?pi dhe disa familje i p?rkisni
besimit mysliman. Megjithat?, mes familjeve t? t?
arrinin q? t? vler?sonin fet? e tyre. Thyerja
e pllak?s p?rkujtimore n? kryq sh?non rastin
e vet?m p?r t?u mbajtur n? v?mendjen e t?
gjith?ve. N? gjykimin e banor?ve n? fshatin
Stan, por edhe n? fshatrat p?rreth jepet nj? motiv p?r
k?t? ngjarje: ?Dora provokuese n? simbolin e
Pran? kryqit gjigand n? fshatin Stan-Karbunar? takojm?
Osman Shehun, nj? shofer i vjet?r nga fshati
Karbunar?. Ai e kujton fare mir? koh?n kur
?sht? nd?rtuar kulti fetar. ?sht? fjala p?r
vitin 1997. ?Kan? qen? djemt? e xhaxhait tim,
Besniku, Mynyri, Avdullai q? nd?rtuan kryqin
n? koh?n e luft?s. Nd?rtimi i kultit t? fes?
kristiane erdhi n? k?t? vend t? shenjt?, pasi
ka qen? komuniteti i fshatit Stan q? k?rkoi
t? nd?rtohej nj? kryq i madh. Ne n? fakt jemi
mysliman?, por respektin e feve t? kund?rta e
vler?sojm? nj?lloj?. Pllaka e mermerit, rreth
nj? met?r katror, me mbishkrimin dhe mesazhin
e paqes dhe t? mir?sis?, ?sht? thyer me sende
t? forta. Ve? saj jan? d?mtuar dhe g?rmat e
lyera me boj? ari. Banor?t, sapo kan? m?suar nj?
fakt t? till? dhe iu duket se kjo ?sht? e
pazakont?. Banor?t e fshatit kujtojn? se p?r
mjete dhe njer?z zanat?inj, q? i njihnin mir?
cil?sit? e kulteve fetare.
?
Prifti: Ai vend ?sht? i shenjt?
Kryqi ?sht? i duksh?m p?r t? gjith?. ?sht? i
nd?rtuar far? pran? Kish?s s? Sh?n Kollit,
mbi vendin e shenjt?. At Arkip Ko?i, thot? se ky
institucion varet nga Mitropolia e Beratit
dhe se ?sht? d?shp?ruar q? vihet dor? mbi
kultet fetare, pavar?sisht se kujt feje i
p?rkasin.
Pse nuk u ngrit n? kish? n? vend t? kryqit?
Ai vend ?sht? i shenjt? dhe shenjt?ria e tij
ka ardhur prej shekujsh. Kjo ?sht? trash?guar
n? disa breza besimtar?sh. Nj? kryq si ai q?
u ngrit i ?on n? vend vlerat e bamir?si?
njer?zimit, nd?rsa nj? kish? nuk do t?
thoshte aq shum?.
Ka financuar dikush q? u ngrit kulti?
Shoqata e vlleh?ve t? Stanit si dhe despoti
yn? n? Berat. Pastaj kur do komuniteti askush
?astit k?rkojn? t? provokojn?
dhe prishin vlerat tona t? trash?guara. Ky p?r
ne ?sht? alarm. P?r k?t? rast do t? njoftohet
mitropoliti yn? n? Berat, pasi andej varemi.
Po p?r kryqet n? Elbasan dhe Sarand?, ku dhe jan?
hapur shum? debate, cili ?sht? synimi juaj?
Gjykoj se kultet jan? t? shenjta dhe kur
preken. I takon per?ndis? q? t? gjykoj? pse
prishen kryqet. Un? jam klerik i thjesht? dhe
dua t? mbroj jet?n e zotit. K?to i gjykij si
rase sporadike, t? orientuar nga njer?z t? paformuar
dhe kultur?n e pamjaftueshme demokratike. Ne
dim? t? tolerojm?, t? falim dhe k?to e b?jn?
p?r t? krijuar lidhje edhe me t? forta me
nj?ri-tjetrin edhe pse bindjet jan? t? ndryshme.

SI ERDHEN NE BERAT TE PERSEKUTUARIT E GREKEVE
Cameria, masakrat shoviniste greke dhe pritja beratase
Berati shquhet si djep i qyteterimit te lashte, si
muze gjigant ne natyre. Madje eshte arkivi i gjalle i
historise dhe kultures. Qyteti i Beratit shquhet dhe
per mikpritjen. Pikerisht kete e ka treguar me ardhjen
e nje kontigjenti familjesh qe ishin sjelle me imponim
nga lufta e dyte boterore. Eshte fjala per familjet
came qe erdhen nga jashte kufijve te Shqiperise.
bandat kriminale greke te Zerves monarko fashiste iken
te tmerruara nga syte kembet prej truallit te tyre,
Cameria. Lane gjithcka dhe iu drejtuan kufijve te
Shqiperise per te shpetuar koken. Shovinizmi i
Rreth 1200 persona sipas
shifrave u strehuan ne Berat. Banoret iu dhane atyre
dhoma ku te strehoheshin. Madje kishte dhe nga ata qe
iu liruan te gjithe shtepine, sic eshte rasti i
familjes V. Zhorra ne Lagjen e Re.
Jakup Ahmeti, cam, kujton si e festuan naten e Vitit
te Ri 1945 tek hani i Isuf Mecanit. Ai tregon se ate
nate sapo kishin ardhur e kishin kaluar ne qytetin e
Beratit. Diten tjeter komuniteti ekzekutiv iu dha nje
shkrese per Rasim Fugen dhe Sulon Muzhagen
keshilltaret e lagjes "Murat Celepi" qe t'i strehonin
dhe ashtu u be. "Deri ne vitin 53 kemi qene te
regjistruar ne gjendjen civile dhe shteti na kishte
pajisur me dokumente si banore came", kujton Ahmeti.
Camet kane mberritur me pasaporte greke ne Shqiperi,
me pasaporta shqiptare. Berati ne keto kohe kishte
shume probleme, pasi me urdher te administrates ne
re shteterore, te cilet sollen me vete dhe familjet e
tyre, kujtojne te moshuarit. Keta nga ana dokumentare
u regjistruan si banore te kryeqytetit e kerkuan
strehim. Keshtu qe u vu dore mbi shtepite e familjeve
beratase per t'u strehuar nenpunesit e rangjeve te
larta, te mesme dhe te vogla. Veshtiresite qe u
krijuan nga dyndja e popullsise alarmuan pushetin
lokal, i cili reagoi shpejt duke perballuar situaten.
Nderkohe ne Berat gjendja ishte shume e veshtire.
Populli ankohej per kripe dhe per ilace. Berati ishte
kthyer ne nje qender kryesore per popullsine came dhe
ata te internuarit. Me kete rast u kerkua qe ne
Divjake te merreshin 200 meter toka per ndertimin e
nje barake ku do te strehoheshin nje pjese e te
ardhurve.
Camet u priten mire ne Berat
Te gjendur para tmerresh te papershkrueshme shoviniste
greke, mijera came kishin perjetuar kohe te
veshtira.Lane shtepite dhe gjithcka kishin per te
ikur. Shume prej tyre te uritur dhe gjysme te zhveshur
arriten ne tokat shqiptare. Ndersa shume te tjere
vdiqen nga uria rruges. Shfarosja e popullsise po
behej ora-ores. 98-vjecari Z.H. tregon se si
shovinistet greke ne shenje hakmarrjeje varnin burrat
lakuriq, me koke poshte ne deget e pemeve, ju
percellonin kembet me hekur te skuqur dhe neper trup u
vendosnin veze te ziera te nxehta. Ka te tjere qe
tregojne per perdhunime, per goditje me sepata e
hanxhare.

Dig reveals more of ancient Albanian shul
Judy Siegel-Itzkovich, THE JERUSALEM POST
Oct. 19, 2004
Excavations at an ancient synagogue in Albania have
uncovered additional sections of the impressive
structure.
The dig, now in its second season, is being conducted
under the auspices of the Hebrew University and the
Albanian Academy of Sciences at a synagogue that dates
from the 5th or 6th century CE and is located in the
coastal city of Saranda, opposite the Greek island of
Corfu.
The synagogue underwent various changes, including
transformation into a church in the late 6th century
CE, before it was destroyed by Slavic raids into the
region in the 7th century.
Initial excavations at the site were conducted two
decades ago when Albania was under tight communist
rule. The Albanian team, suspecting that the ruins
contained a synagogue, issued an invitation to the
Hebrew University in 2002.
Profs. Gideon Foerster and Ehud Netzer of the HU's
Institute of Archeology, together with Albanian
archeologists Kosta Lako and Etleva Nalbani, have been
working for the past few weeks at the site. Also
working this year on the project was a French expert
on mosaics, Marie-Pat Raynaud.
The archeologists have concentrated on revealing
additional rooms adjoining the elongated hall whose
mosaic floors depict such Jewish symbols as a
seven-branched candelabrum (menora) flanked by a
citron (etrog) and a ram's horn (shofar). The newly
exposed rooms ? which in fact were an extension of the
hall ? contain more of the decorative mosaic paving,
including representations of fish, a popular theme in
the ancient world.
The joint Albanian-Israeli delegation intends to
return soon to the site to continue uncovering the
basilica section of the synagogue, which today lies
under a main street in Saranda. The construction of
the basilica, close to the elongated hall, was the
last major development of the synagogue.
The archeologists noted that in a Jewish cemetery in
the southern Italian town of Venosa, there is a
tombstone dating from 521 CE bearing the name of
Augusta, daughter of Yishai, head of the Jewish
community of Anchiasmon (Onchismus), the ancient name
for Saranda...

Trag?die et espoirs albanais
Journal.
Drita ?omo
Cette lueur qui monte
de l?ab?me,
pr?face d?Ismail Kadar?, traduction de l?albanais
d?Edmond Tupia
?ditions du Rocher, collection ??Lettres albanaises??,
140 pages, 16 euros.
tragique du m?me genre, jusqu?? l?absurde. Drita ?omo
