Priority may be given to applications involving either the initiation of
a new programme, or a special activity to bring an existing programme to
completion. Applications must be for projects involving genuine
collaborative work between a defined group of scholars in one, or
possibly two, other countries. Applicants must be ordinarily resident
in the UK, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands. Awards will not be
made retrospectively, applications must be made in time for them to be
considered well before the research is due to begin.

Grants are available to a maximum of £2,500 per year for up to two
years. Grants will be offered for one year in the first instance with
subsequent support being dependent on a satisfactory progress report.
Grants will be offered to support travel and maintenance costs in both
the partner country and in Britain, either for individual visits or for
workshops and symposia. The funding is not intended to cover major
research expenses.
