This is a joint programme between the London School of Economics, the Open Society Institute and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office aimed at improving teaching and research capacities of the universities in Albania, Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, FYR Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. The program aims to bring up to 30 junior social science faculty from the universities in the aformentioned countries for 3- month study visits at the London School of Economics over a period of 3 years. During their stay at the LSE visitng fellows are expected to participate in a collaborative research programme with the LSE staff as well as our partners at the University of Bologna, Vienna Institute for International Economics (WIIW) and Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). We have two open calls for applications for the fellowship within the framework of this program. One is for the visitng fellows and the other for a postdoctoral fellow. Applicants will normally be expected to be both nationals of and resident in one of the following countries: Albania, Bosnia- Hercegovina, Croatia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Republic of Serbia, Republic of Montenegro and Kosovo province at present under UN administration. Applicants should have outstanding academic qualifications and fluent English. They should at present hold a teaching position at a University in one of the above countries. Each Junior Fellowship provides study visits of three months to the London School of Economics, a stipend to cover living costs (for one person only), and return air travel from the Fellow's home country. On completion of the Fellowships, faculty are expected to return to their home country.
