CEU is an English speaking graduate research university, offering master's and doctoral programs. The candidates should be dynamic scholars with a strong commitment to research and graduate teaching in the multi- disciplinary field of gender studies and in one of the more traditional disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Candidates with a background in critical cultural studies, and interested either in integrative perspectives on gender, class, and race, or in the relation between the symbolic and the social order are particularly invited to apply. Candidates who have experience with comparative research and an interest in transdisciplinary methodology are also encouraged to apply. The university would like to attract scholars who are willing to make a long-term commitment to living and working in Budapest. Knowledge of one or more of the Central European languages is highly welcome. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. The length of the contract is 3 to 4 years (renewable); salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. The compensation package is subject to Hungarian taxation regulations. Employees who are not citizens or permanent residents of Hungary will be required to obtain a work permit.
