Senator Jon Corzine of New Jersey has joined the National Albanian American Council as an Honorary Co-Chair. Senator Corzine, who was recently elected to the US Senate, is a member of the Joint Economic Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee, Budget, and the Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. Before being elected to the Senate, Mr. Corzine served as co-chairman and co-chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs. "We are pleased to welcome Senator Corzine to our organization as an Honorary Co-Chair," said Richard Lukaj, Chairman of NAAC. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Senator on issues that are important to Albanian-Americans such as the implementation of the peace agreement in Macedonia, as well as achieving independence for Kosova, economic and social development in Albania, and equal rights for Albanians in Serbia and Montenegro." Senator Corzine joins Congressmen Eliot Engel, Peter King, and Mark Kirk, and Congresswoman Sue Kelly, as Honorary Co-Chairs of the National Albanian American Council.
