Hello to everyone!

There is an organization called Women for women, which has created a
program that sponsors women in countries like Africa, India, Kosova,
Bosnia-Hercegovina. They are now expanding in other countries of the world
too. The purpose of the organization is to give help, and hope to women
around the world, who have suffered as a result of war, violence, abuse
against them. The program matches you with a women in need, and all you
need to do is send them 25 bucks a month, and also a letter. The 25 dollars
go directly to the center that the organization has in the specific country
this woman lives, monitored by people who then give it directly to the
woman you are sponsoring. This way you create a six-months correspondence
with this women, writing back and forth, giving her moral support as well
as 25 dollar financial support.

We all know that living abroad, as an immigrant, or student who goes to
school and works two jobs in order to make it, is hard. Most of us are
living a safe and relatively easy life in comparison with many of these
women are. Women in african countries are very much dependent on man, they
have no financial indipendence which forces them to either give in to
prostituion or marry a man they don't want to marry. They live in total
poverty, they have no dignity, no power to rebel against the abuse against
them.

I heard the story of a 9-year-old in India who was asked by a 45-year-old
man to have sex with him. She refused and the price she had to pay was acid
in her face. That's right...he sneaked into her house at night, and threw
acid in her face as a sign of punishment for her rejection. Another
9-year-old was forced into prostitution and forced to have sex with as many
as 15 man per night. She was bit and raped repeatedely. And, we all know
how many women have been raped in Kosova during the war, and the hard
conditions they live in right now.

Those of us who can and care, let us do something for this women. 25
dollars per month, and also a leter correspondence for 6 months. It's worth
caring. I can survive with 25 dollars less for six months...that can make a
difference in somebody else's life. I have the chance of working and
earning a living....most of these women dont.
