Dear all,

I am trying to assist an Albanian gentleman, who is looking for ways to 
verify his father's American citizenship.  His father was born in Korce, 
Albania, in 1896, and around 1908 he made it to America.  In 1929 the father 
returned to Albania, where he died in 1942.  Every document that proved his 
American citizenship and other relevant information was destroyed by the 
communists.  This good old man has no testimony that his father held an 
American citizenship and furthermore completed the military service in US, in 
Philadelphia.  He is looking for any piece of evidence that indicates or 
certifies his father's American citizenship. 

I possess all the good will to help him, but I do not know which institutions 
to approach.  I would be very grateful to anyone who might be able to assist.
