Albanian opposition leader detained

The leader of the opposition in Albania, the former president Salih
Berisha, was briefly detained by police overnight. 
    Police arrested him outside the headquarters of the opposition
Democratic Party, where they believed wanted criminals were hiding. 
    It's the first time the government has taken any action against Mr
Berisha, who has refused to accept the result of municipal elections in
October. 
    He described the detention as kidnap and a shameful act of
intimidation. 
    The arrest follows the killing of at least two Albanians yesterday,
after an attack on a police station in the northern town of Bajram
Curri, one of the Democratic Party's few remaining strongholds.
