The Fall 2000 Visiting Scholar and Visiting Researcher Colloquium Series at Harvard Law School presents: "National Minority Issues in the European Union: the Case of Italy and Greece" By Agron Alibali Visiting Researcher Wednesday, November 15, 2000 (12:00 - 1:30 PM Lewis International Law Center, 211) Both Italy and Greece are important members of the European Union, the Council of Europe and NATO. Both countries have national minorities within their territories. The talk will inquire comparatively the level and degree of legal protection ensured to these minorities in both countries by means of international law, respective constitution and, when appropriate, domestic legislation. The way in which both countries treat their own minorities is very important, since it carries significant impact within and outside the European Union, especially in Southeastern Europe. Lunch will be served at 12:00 PM.
