Greek investments in Albania expected to be doubled during 2000

KORCE, June 19 (ATA) - By G.Ashimi: Greek investments in Albania will be 
doubled during this month reaching a value of $ 220 million, Greek 
ambassador accredited to Albania Aleksandros Mallias said during a meeting 
held with leaders of local government in Korce, after a 4-day visit in 
districts of this prefecture.
During the talks held Mallias said that now it is time to pass in the stage 
of great investments, and this will be achieved through the implementation 
of important projects by Greek serious investors who will be back to 
Albania. He hailed the economic and cultural potential in four districts of 
this prefecture, but voiced the necessity of improvement of road and 
energetic infrastructure as main conditions for 'attracting' investors.
On this occasion Greek ambassador confirmed the aid of 3.3
million Euro delivered by Greek government in the context of Stability Pact 
on construction of Korce-Pogradec main road axis, aid which was publicized 
in the donor's conference in Brussels.
Perfect Alickolli expressed the interest of local government for investments 
in the domains which are not exploited yet such as tourism, industry and 
agriculture.
