THANKS TO ALL OF YOU
WHO HAVE SENT THE ALBANIAN PEOPLE MESSAGES OF SUPPORT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! --
Disarming the real defenders and sons of the land is not going to
guarantee your childerns'future, and living under the protection of
those who may change their mind soon,is not wisdom. Arif.
--
As all the Albanian refuges go back
home they look so happy. When they get home they look so sad. I know that it is so hard
for them to see the destruction. But they need to look to the future. There is hope and
the people of the world will pray for them and help them. They will rebuild their
homes and businesses but they need to work hard and keep the faith. Their country
was once a great place to live and they will be proud once again. All of the people
of Kosovo are in our hearts and prayers, even the Serbs because they are also scared and
desperate now. The Albanians need to forgive the Serbs and move forward to rebuild their
lives and homes. Marty.

Great website! I sent this letter to the Yugoslavia Government website
and hope this can be included in your letters of support:
Subject: My thoughts on your appeals......
Date: Sun, 20 Jun 1999 20:42:31 -0800
From: Leanman ______
To: jagos.zelenovic@gov.yu
To whom it may concern:
You forgot some key issues concerning your environmental appeals and
violation of your government from NATO:
You where warned to seek dialogue......
You have made a mistake thinking you can rid the Albanians of their
land; in doing so, you have caused more ethnic revenge and strife then
you can ever imagine......
Maybe not today, or tomorrow, but your nation will realize the economic
and environmental destructive impact your leader has caused......
No Serb (s) has stepped forward during the Nato air campaign to to
challenge this unnecessary brutal "ethnic" cleansing, reminesant of
World War 2; what does this say about your race?......
And, you have shown the world how brutal your race is......
Have you not learned from Hitler? Your leader had a good teacher......
And you all have the nerve to talk about "Environmental Damage" to your
country??? I was reading your "appeals" from Prof. Jagos Zelenovic,
Ph.D. on your web site at: http://www.gov.yu/appeal/index.html,
and
have to actually laugh. Why? His last statement at the end is quoted:
"Bearing in mind the above, and respecting the consistent peace policy
carried out by the federal Republic of Yugoslavia, we consider it as
imperative to immediately cease all war activities and set for peaceful
solution of the existing problems and start rehabilitation and
reconstruction of the destroyed as soon as possible".
Maybe you should gather your PHD professors, and think of a solution to
start rehabilitation on your army for the brutality of human beings, or
the removal of your indicted war criminal leader, so that your
environment can be repaired. Wow, what a thought. Just think how a
democratic society would work there. Think hard. Because NO MAN or a
leader is invincible.
Of all the atrocities I have read and watched in my lifetime, I am TRULY
ASHAMED of the human race; including yours......

The New York Times on the Web has a section called "Issue in Depth:
The Conflict in Kosovo" and under "classroom resources" and
"Background
Information" is an article called "Two Distinct People With Two Divergent
Memories" by Michael Kaufman, which I found to be the most objective
article of the history of the region that I have read in the US Media. It
can also be found under "The Learning Network" section under The New York
Times on the web. Another site I found is www.kosova.nu.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a journalist residing in Washington, DC, and would like to visit Kosovo
June 28 to July 1, 1999. I would like to know what travel documents I need in
order to get to Kosovo from Macedonia. I would also like to find a person who
has transportation (car) and speaks English to assist my trip.
Best regards,

First let me say that I am very happy about the end
of the war for you and that the repressive forces of Yugoslavia have been driven out by
the KLA and NATO. I have watched the news and visited many different news
sites since before the beginning of the airwar by NATO, and am well aware of the
tremendous suffering you have all suffered. I am so happy that it is over or
on its way to being over.
I want to tell you something very
important. Most of the world has watched this conflict unfold and know how the
Albanians of Kosovo have been brutally treated at the hands of the Serbian Paramilitary,
police and army. We all know how really inhumanely they have treated you.
Now, this is your chance! As the whole
world is watching. This is your chance to show to the world that the Albanians of
Kosovo are different, that the Albanians of Kosovo are not like the Serbians, that they
are a greater people. That they are a people morally superior to the Serbians.
There is nothing that the world understands better than a contrast. Contrast
yourselves with the Serbs as a superior people, but not with brutality, hatred, revenge,
bitterness and oppression. That defines the Serbians. Define yourselves as a
spiritually and morally cultivated people. Espouse those values that promote healing
and not revenge and retribution. The only way that the suffering that all the
peoples of that area of the world is ever going to stop is if someone changes. All
civilizations must learn empathy, as most difficult as it is under the
circumstances. Please, do not be like the Serbians. The World is putting faith in
you that you are not. All the World wants to be loyal to you.
"An eye for an eye makes the whole world
blind."
Peace, love and prosperity be with you,

Encourage as many refugees as possible to concentrate in areas that are
presently mainly Serb and close to Kosova. This includes Mitrovice
especially. Otherwise, you will lose them.
Milo is planning to re-Serbianize them, encouraging Serbs to return and
urging Bosnian refugees to settle in Kosova. You must act before
refugees settle in place. There must be enough angry people who would
be willing to act to protect Kosova's unpartitioned future independence. Frank.

Dear Sir or Madam:
As have so many, I follow the story of war in Kosova with horror, but now new
hope that the people of Kosova may find peace.
My question is a sensitive one, and I hope not to offend, but only to
inquire, and perhaps offer assistance if it is needed.
Are safe abortion (termination of early pregnancy) services available to
Kosovars?
We have heard that rape is a common instrument of ethnic cleansing. If there
indeed was widespread rape over the last two months, it is my hope that the
women affected would have access to medically safe abortion services if they
so chose.
There are many secondary questions to this. What is the cultural and
religious position on this sensitive topic? Is there a shortage of trained
personnel, appropriate materials, etc., and how could that be remedied?
I myself am a physician with some contacts in the NGO's active in the Kosova
region and also with access to especially materials but also personnel with
extensive experience in abortion medicine, including "appropriate
technologies" for field work in less than ideal conditions.
Thank you for any answers or assistance you might give, and your earliest
convenient reply!

To all of you supporting the Albanians and their just cause for freedom and
prosperity: THANK YOU!!! This crisis, better than anything else, shows how
vast the difference between civilization and barbarism is. To all the NATO
countries' nationals and others who sympathized with the Albanian cause: You
are the finest example of democracy and may God bless you all. My fellow
Albanians will never forgive your support and encouragement. Please continue
your exemplary work for a free and independent Kosova.
To my fellow Albanians: Wherever you are, GOD BLESS YOU!!! You have made
every other Albanian and me very, very proud. What we are dealing with is
obscene, inhumane and more, but--though unfortunate-the world is very
impressed with you. The truth and justice, sooner or later, prevails. The
civilized world succeeded in defeating the barbaric one, but remember we
still have a long way to go. Your suffering is extreme and anger is natural,
but please refrain yourselves from revenge. The world is watching and it is
in our side. Continue to show you are better than the Serbs and their
criminal leaders by refraining yourselves from violence. Work for peace and
stability, by not targeting any Serb civilians upon your return home.
To the Serbs and their supporters: Please seize this opportunity to embrace
democratic values and live proudly in a real world, different from the one
that Slobodan Milosevic and other criminals have fictionalized for you. Wake
up and embrace the truth! Wake up and embrace civilization!
Mom and Dad: Thank you for opening our home in Tirana, Albania, to the
needy. I wish I were there to comfort my Albanian brothers and sisters.
Yours truly,
Alti,

Originally General Jackson said that rifles and individual weapons
would not be seized, the they start seizing rifles and pistols. This smells of
Clinton and Blair. Consider what Blair did to personal weapons in England and what
Clinton is trying to do here.
Gathering the weapons in NATO approved storage facilities is
bunching them together so that they can be easily seized. The only safe
storage is for each KLA member to SAFELY store his own.
The KLA must organize and train, train, train. I mean a
serious organization with no internal bickering or power struggles. Using weapons
that they can afford to lose they must have extensive target practice. The US armed
forces can afford to blow off truckloads of ammo in the general direction of the enemy but
a force such as the KLA can not.
You must be ready when NATO leaves - as they will.

VICTORY
Finally, you've got the victory! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Regardings from Brazil.
But take care to build a DEMOCRATIC government, uh? It's essential for a
well-suceeded country! And don't forget to make PACIFIC politics among
you!
As you have got international simpathy, I purpose you use it to get
foreign technical support to help you lead with inflation, economy,
currency, unemployment, civil security and other "common" government
matters!
Well, to end this letter, I'd like to know if you plane to make a fusion
with Albania soon. Please answer me.
Be happy!
P.S.: Inform everybody when you make the Kosova Government Official Web
Page. I purpose the URL be www.gov.ks, or www.gov.kv. What about it?

Good evening from northern Alberta. My grandson, Jay, 19, might like to
go to Kosovo to work in rebuilding of the place. He is handy, has worked
as a carpenter's helper, drives a car, and is strong and healthy. My
wife and I could pay his way over, and, possibly, contribute to his
upkeep there.
Given the name of this board, does anyone here have a suggestion as to
where he could start looking. He is not especially religious, so I know
that will limit his possibilities. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

the Land Mines are cleared).

Hello,
I am one of many Muslims living in the West who support the cause of the
Kosovar Albanians. Allah has been good to the Kosovars by giving them the
opportunity to return to their home land. The Kosovars have suffered a lot
and there is much healing and reconstruction that has to take place. We
whole heartedly support these initiatives by our constant prayers and
material aid.
This is a time of opportunity. We need to demonstrate to the world that we
will not act in the same barbaric manner in which the Serbs have done in the
past. As Muslims, we cannot start killing Serbs in revenge and retaliation.
We should seek justice in the war crime tribunals and from Allah. We cannot
behave in the same way as the Serbs. We must demonstrate the Islamic ideals
of peace. This will bring respect from everyone around the world for our
restraint and our belief in the sanctity of human life. No matter how
difficult this is, we have to strive for restraint. Otherwise, we will
succumb to the same disease that has plagued the Serbs who killed without
conscience. We have a conscience and we are answerable to Allah for all our
actions in this life.
We pray that Allah guides the Kosovar Albanians to the 'Sirat al Mustaqim'
in their lifes ahead and grants them peace, happiness and prosperity. Amen.

helping her to collect clothes for her family in Kosovar - I'm expecting a large amount of
clothing from work friends and I don't think she has the resources to mail all of it to
Kosovar.
Is there a local drop or is UPS/Fed Exp sponsoring some
shipments.
2) I would like to inquire about adopting an orphan, a little

We are so proud of the people of Kosova!
After all the suffering they've been through, maybe it's hard to think about
it. But it is time to rebuild Kosova and form the official Kosova Army, which will protect
Kosovars against Serbian assaults in the future.

Dear Sir / Madam:
I resigned as Town Administrator of Rehoboth, Massachusetts to serve
with the US Army as a Civil Affairs Specialist in Kosovo.
Unfortunetely, the Army has not called the Civil Affairs into the region

operations includes logistics, explosive device recognition and
awareness training, NGO/IO children and elderly project coordination.

My plans are to return to Municipal Government in RI or MA when tour is

Ever since the Oger Serbs forced your citizens into oblivion, and specially
after corroborating the massacres commited in the name of the Devil, [we
guess,] could not be God, we have poured many tears day to day, watching on
the BBC, CNN, MSNBC and others, the plight of your beautiful children,
adolescents, and adults, as they left Kosovo. It is an irony, our century
closes with Milosevic crimes, so horrendous he deserves Mussolini's death
in WW II.We have seven children, and nine grandchildren, and could not
possibly reconcile with the horror your people has endured. At one time we
were thinking of adopting some of your orphans; however we are going
through the crisis of one of our daughters breakdown, and we are helping to
raise her only child, and they are living with us for now. However, after 4
months or so, we might be able to support one or two of your orphans if
needed.
Go is only one, and we can't conceive how the serbs who suffered through
the Nazis, could do likewise to the Moslem population. Shame on
them!.Please, keep in touch. MG4 CEO.

Reading what the Serb Deputy Prime Minister Voislav
Seselj had to say about the Albanians in Kosovo, sounds almost identical to what past
leaders in South Africa had to say about Africans living in S.A.
The arrogance of such bigots will always be
with us for as long as they are allowed to get away with it.

How does one get in touch with someone they care strongly about who is
located in Kosovo as part of the peace keeping process? Is there any
other way other than sending letters through the mail, which may take up
to 21 days since I reside in the US. Joel Michel.

And we are thankful that the savage Serbs have been defeated and driven
out. Kosovars must retain the KLA organization and some weapons in
order to preserve the victory that has been won with the help of NATO.
A national guard is necessary.
Until Kosova has guaranteed security, it should remain a NATO
protectorate, but always with the idea that there must be a future
plebiscite which will lead to independence for the Kosovar Albanians,
who must have the resources to protect themselves without outside
intervention (which may not be there next time).
I am happy to see that this fight for decency and humanity has been
waged and won during my lifetime. by great leaders such as Presidnet
Clinton and Prime Minister Blair.
Considering actual circumstances and the crimes against humanity
committed by the Serbs, how can their churches, monasteries and
historic/cultural sites be tolerated. They only serve to commemorate an
evil people and to attract them to return to the place where they have
committed their atrocities.
From a private citizen who is a professional historian, my feelings of
affection and solidarity.
Sincerely yours,
John B. Williman, Ph.D.

I have been reading your web-site for the past three months on what has happened
in Kosova. I just wanted to say that as an average American mother of one, who works
everyday and has a relatively boring life, I am deeply disturbed about what has happened.
One morning as I scanned through pictures on the AP wire of the victums of the Serbs, I
ran across a picture of a little boy that was in a refugee camp in Bosnia and they didn't
know where his parents were and he was being cared for by another family that found him, I
could not think stop thinking about what has happened.
I have no ties to Kosova, I am not Muslim, but I am human and what Milosvich has done was
not human. I think about the people all the time and your web-site has been a real eye
opener to me who has never even given a thought to what "ethnic cleansing" is
about. Now I know and it shows me that it's ugly, babies killed and seperated from their
families, husbands killed right in font of their families. I can't imagine what the people
are going through. But I do know it was shear horror and absolute hell.
No one has the right to be treated others the way they were treated. But out of all that
has happened one thing for sure is that the whole world know what Milosavich has done and
there is nowhere for him to hide.

I have supported the KLA all throught this past year both morally and
financially. I believe in a Free Kosova. I despise what the Serbs have
done; however, I would like to take this opportunity to ask the Albanian
Kosovars not to bring themselves down to the lowest levels of mankind
and act out with brutality to the Serbs who, although few in number,
have not committed the terrible atrocities against Albanians. What the
Serbs have done to the Albanian Kosovars has made them loathed around
the world, please do not bring this kind shame and hatred to the
Albanian Kosovars also. TheSerbs who have committed these terrible
crimes will be punished, if not here on earth then in the Pits of Hell

To whom it may concern:
I appreciate very much the comprehensive news archive of the Kosovo
Crisis Center.
In particular, I was happy to find the translation of a publication in
"Politika" from January 1999, reporting the Contact Group principles for
the Rambouillet talks.
http://www.alb-net.com/kcc/2shkurt.htm#g
However, no source is given in the KCC news archive. In an article in
"Neue Zuercher Zeitung"
http://www.nzz.ch/online/02_dossiers/kosovo/kos990202awy.htm
it is
mentioned that the english version is published by the news agency
Reuters.
Could you please tell me, whether the article in KCC news archive is
based on this report by Reuters? If yes, is this the complete Reuters
report? Thanks in advance.

Dear People of Kosovo, Many people in the Canada and the USA understand
the need for Kosovo to have independence. I support you in this process.
The current US and Canadian governments would like to have Kosovo remain
attached to Serbia as a federal union. It is my opinion (and many others
agree) that it is ridiculous for any country of the former Yugoslavia to
be politically attached to Serbia in any way. I will fight for you in
your struggle for independence. I have several suggestions for the
Kosovo government that will enable Kosovars to have a just and civil
society, that is an independent free state.
firstly; After NATO has completed its task and the streets are safe
again, the struggle for independence should be placed in the hands of
the UN. The UN will create an new platform for independence and this
will make null and void any agreements with NATO based on some form of
union with Serbia. The agreements with NATO were made with the desire
for peace and were created under duress as you were being attaced by
Serbia.
Secondly, remind the people of the "United States" that Kosovo is not
any different then any other independent Nation or State on Earth.
Through Democratic decision, the people of Kosovo want full
independence. This needs to be said, as it will remind the good folk of
the U.S.A. that there are similarities between Kosovo and the USA. The
need for autonomy, yet participate in a greater union with the EU. Draw
upon history to point out the similarities from within USA and EU to
make your point that Kosova should be independent.
good luck , I will be standing with you,
AC Arthur
Vancouver, Canada
I support your democracy and civil society.

Like many people I was deeply affected by the
plight of kosovar refugees and am glad that they can now return to their rightful home.
However the horror and suffering are not yet over: stark evidence is now emerging of
the atrocities committed by the serb paramilitaries.
Perhaps it is too soon to ask this question: but do you see
any possibility that one day there may be peace, real peace, between serbs and ethnic
albanians? I know that for those who have lost relations and dear ones in horrifying
circumstances, the answer must be a resounding 'No!'. But what is the alternative?
I would be interested to correspond with any albanians who
have views on this question, however strongly they feel for or against. my objective is
very modest: to meet, to talk, to build bridges.

I live in Calhoun, GA and I understand that three Albanian refugee families
are moving into my area. I knew my church was sponsoring one here in
Calhoun, but I learned today that a second family is moving just 30 minutes
to our north (in Dalton, GA) and a 3rd a few minutes to our south (in
Cartersville, GA). Can you help me learn how to make their arrival as easy
as possible? Are there certain customs we should be aware of? Is there a
certain food we have in Georgia (or the southern US states) that would offend
them if we served it? Anything you can tell me will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
Greg McDaris

I, like so many people are horrified and stare in
disbelief at the evil and cruelty that is going on literally on our door step. This should
not be happening in society today ,what a dreadful way to end this century. I would like
to help in some way. I am a good writer ,and wondered if you needed anybody to write to
people , put pressure on the people who can make the difference, or write to the paper and
let them know what is really going on, the TRUTH
Please help me to help these people who are
so very deserving of our help.
All my love and best wishes
Sharon.

Sir,
I have followed with interest the situation in Kosovo. I will never
understand how any human being can treat another as I have seen going on in
Kosovo. Maybe not now but in the end, the head of state in Yugoslavia will
pay for his crimes.
My heart and prayers are with ALL the men, women and children of Kosovo. May
God bless all and keep you safe in the future.
If anyone in Kosovo would like to write me, I would love to hear from them.
Sincerely,
Don Cross

Dear Sirs,
Welcome to our new project -Producers help to refugees-, which we
decided to do as our contribution to the victims of the crisis in the
Balkans. We are Slovak company working under German management which
works in international business. Everyday, we listen to the news and get
new information about the conflict. The faces of the victims, the faces
of the refugee children push us to do something.
Best regards,

Dear Friends of Peace and Justice
I represent a small group of
Swiss/Europeans/Albanians etc living in Basel who are active - not as a political party -
against racism and intoleration.
We have an idea to place an Appeal in a
popular Kosova Newspaper - in the local language - indicating our solidarity, caring, and
concern, calling for as much tolerance and the renouncing of revenge as can be humanely
possible.
Would you be able to give us the email
address of any such Kosova-Albanian newspaper as may still be running in Kosova?
Your help very much appreciated.

are about 600 people live
I hope to hear soon from you.

HI!
You know that I have supported the Albanian cause and help in different
ways, but I have to tell you that I am very disappointed by the reaction
of the KLA when they entered Kosovo and killed innocent Serbs. Those
who commited the atrocities, they are no more there. They are all gone.
So, why those raping, those killing, those kidnapping, those torturing,
those same atrocities that I've denounced so much.
I thoughr that Albanians were different, but they are the same... At
least some of them. Albanian people cannot ask for RESPECT of LIFE if
themselves cannot respect.
Tell the KLA to moderate themselves, because the next time, sometime in
a near future, when the Serbs and the Russians will come from the NORTH
for the GREAT MASSACRE of Albanians, NATO will not be around...
A Canadian, quite shocked!
Alb-Net Response: We do not support revenge killings. Hopefully they
will stop soon.

Wow, just cannot believe this is happening to
another human being in 1999.
Let's pull this all togeter once and for

Hello,
like people in many countries on this planet I deeply condemned the
so-calles ethnic cleansing of the Kosovo from Ethinc-Albanians, the
killing, looting. raping etc.
After the fighting was over, everybody seemed happy. Now, with the
majority of Jugoslaw-Albanians on their way back - many of them "are
taking revenge".
Now everything sort of has changed. It is the Albanians who are not
foregiving and many of them engage in atrocities themselves. This cannot
be true.
Please tell me. why there are these conflicts, and noone able to act
humanely.
Best regards,
Gerold

Gentlemen:
My name is Ferd Irizarry. I am a civil-military co-operation officer with
NATO and would like to learn more about the Republic of Kosova. Is there
someone that you recommend I could establish correspondence with? I have
conducted many searches on the web, but can't seem to find the answers to
some of the simplest questions, such as when the planting season begins,
what are the months of the normal school year, when, if ever, is it too cold
to continue outdoor construction projects. As you can see, I'm interested
in establishing a concept for the redevelopment of Kosova but would like
your expertise.
Can you help?
Thanks,
Ferd Irizarry

To Whom it Mat Concern'
Recently my wife and I were reading over the War crimes inditements against
Milosovic and Co. when we came across the names of:
Dardan Zhunigi age 6
Dardana Zhunigi age 8
Our children are:
Jacob Bonham age 6
Elsa Bonham age 8
We would like to know more about the Zhunigi children that we might teach
our little ones, so that perhaps they may live on in a small way, if only
in the memory of children their age.
Respectfully,
Daniel and Shalom Bonham

Dear Sir or Madam:
We are all aware of the crisis in Kosova and that many citizens have been
forcefully expelled from their homes. In addition, many families have been
separated and do not know the whereabouts of their other family members. In
an effort to disseminate information about missing family members and,
hopefully, reunite members of fragmented families, StudioPointe Interactive
has created a new website located at www.refugeelocator.org.
The purpose of the website is to provide a centralized location for
information pertaining to the location of refugees worldwide. Utilizing the
latest technology we hope to produce an easy to use database of persons who
have been forced out of their homes that wish to find their loved-ones,
friends and colleagues. This site will allow refugees to post information
pertaining to their whereabouts, which can then be searched for and viewed
by concerned loved ones.
This site is just the beginning of a vision that we have to help reunite and
aid the refugees of the modern world. Though originally designed to assist
in the Kosova situation, this website's infrastructure can facilitate the
location of refugees from around the world.
Our database system is easy to use. If a refugee has access to the Internet
they simply have to locate our site and enter the pertinent information
though our easy-to-use interface. If a visitor is searching for information
about a missing person, our search function is also very user-friendly.
We understand that most refugees do not have access to the Internet or even
a phone, and this is where we need your help. We are calling upon all
organizations that deal with refugees to provide us with pertinent
information about refugees. Our goal is to compile a thorough list of
refugee names, country of origins and current whereabouts. Through these
information updates we will be able to further populate our database and
increase the odds of helping people find their families and friends.
Refugee Locator is a donated service provided by StudioPointe Interactive to
help solve the current world's refugee population. This site is a non-profit
service that is maintained and monitored by a network of volunteers who all
share our concerns and our vision.

My sympathies and prayers are with ALL the citizens of Kosovo as you
struggle to rebuilt, re-vitalize, and renovate your torn country. I
will press my local Congressional Representative, the Honorable{?}
Charles Taylor, a Republican act-alike of a right-wing extremist, to
vote YES to reconstruction aid for Kosovo, Montenegro, and Macedonia,
but NOT Serbia proper util Milosevic is gone and a truly democratic
government representing ALL parties is in place. God Bless you and your
efforts.
