Thank you for the very informative site. Your information is very
detailed and up to date. I greatly appreciated the "The Serb Blueprint
for Cleansing Kosova" article, as this this detailed background
information from the Serb side is very lacking in our press, and
consequently leaves a vacuum for questions as to why we should intervene
there. After reading it, I have a much better understanding of the
conflict, and an even greater appreciation for the plight of the people
of Kosovo.

Please suggest a direct line of communication by which teachers outside
Kosovo/Albania can assist the refugees. I have heard and read that some
refugee teachers are attempting to set up lessons for the school-aged
children. If this is the case, please advise if materials such as paper,
pencils can be sent. If so, to whom should we send? Are English texts of
any use?

Should packages be assembled? What should be included and where can they
be sent so that those in need receive them? Should the contents be
described on the outside of the packages? I am concerned that sending
via the aid organisations may result in a bureaucratic delay as they are
so snowed under with survival concerns. Can an Albanian education
organisation/university/school assist such a distribution?

I understand that education is much valued in central Europe and I
imagine that the children in the camps need diversion.

If the word and the address is given, I will organise concerted
education help from Australia. I am happy to hear from teachers from
other countries who may wish to participate in such an effort.

I and all of my family and friends in the UK are horrified by what we are seeing on the television every day. NATO is not doing enough as far as we are concerned. If there was any way that I could get to Kosovo and personally help, I would. (I have tried, but the aid agencies are only sending experienced and qualified people). I pray that this horror ends soon.

i am a Canadian and fully support both Nato and the KLA. I was wondering
why we dont here of Muslim countries coming to the aid of both the
refugees and the KLA. There are so many wealthy muslim countries that
dont seem to be doing much to help. Also why arent muslim nations
helping arm the KLA? The Sultan of Brunei, the richest man in the world
and i believe a muslim could do much to aid the KLA...

I have an acre mini-farm in subrural SW New Mexico. I have space
here, so if Space for Albanian Refugees is or would be considered in private
homes, I have room for a couple families, and a couple more if tents
are also provided. I have no financial capacity to contribute, but I
certainly do have space, and a nice place, and more sweet goatmilk and eggs than
I can begin to use.

military experience in the US army and a passionate belief in stopping the
ethnic cleansing being perpetrated by the Serbs. This is a matter for all

I have emailed the following to several US senators as per your list. I am
about to find UK politicians to send similar messages to.

It is about time NATO admitted that it is not achieving its objectives.
Milosevic is about half way to emptying Kosova (if reported figures are
accurate) and has showed no signs of being affected by the air strikes.

If NATO intends to stop what is happening now, it must send in ground troops.
that is the only way to save the lives of those presently being murdered.
If NATO's intentions are to simply mop up afterwards and attempt to restore
the people of Kosova, they should admit that and stop the air strikes.

I have no confidence in NATO's commitment any longer. They need to go all
the way or not bother at all.

I am an american woman who has been watching the horror you have been
going through and I cannot believe that in 1999, this sort of action
would even be considered, never mind actually conducted. I am disgusted
by the Serbian forces acts of murder and truly hope that there is some
justice in the world that these savage men will one day be held to
account for their acts. Please know that this country is filled with
compassion for you all and that we are all determined that you will not
suffer much more of this. I believe it is imperative that we send in
ground forces to stop the Serbs from the brutality they have thus far
been free to conduct. With God's guidance, the powers that be in
Washington will see the necessity of this and soon there will be relief
for you. You are in my prayers every day. God Bless you and take good

In the small town of La Crescent, Minnesota, USA, high school
students were challenged by a teacher to think of a way they could help
the suffering refugees of Kosovo. The result?
    An entire community-wide campaign has been started, called "Coins
for Kosovo". The local media has publicized the event, and containers
have been placed all over the entire town.
    When students were challenged to sacrificially give, 20 couples
attending the prom this coming Sat., Apr. 24, decided to forgo a costly
formal dinner and instead, give the money to Kosovo refugees.
    We care. And so do countless others. Perhaps efforts such as
these will be of encouragement to the countless people who have lost so
much in this travesty.

Hello from Camp LeJeune, NC, USA! My name is Heidi Price and I am
writing to inquire about the children of Kosovo. My husband, Shane, is an
Officer in the Marine Corps, and so we have been following the crisis quite
closely.
I fear Shane may end up going at some point, but that is the decision we made
when he joined the USMC. If that should happen I will feel very proud and
glad that my husband can help as so many are in need.
Our hearts go out to the refugees, and the children that have become orphans.
It is difficult for me to understand the measure of pain and anguish they
must be feeling, as I sit here happy and content in our safe home. I wish I
could help them to feel this contentment and security. I wish I could bring
them into our home.

My husband and I wish to begin a family soon, and adoption is a serious
consideration as well. We would be willing to adopt an orphaned child or
siblings from the Kosovo crisis. I feel like it will be my part in restoring
their belief in "human kindness", that has been so brutally taken away. We
realize the amount of trauma that will take years of healing, and we are
willing to be there every step of the way to offer love and understanding.

Please tell me what steps we need to take to make this happen for us and for
the children. I understand that international adoption is difficult, but
given the current circumstances, we are willing to face any obstacles. With
the amount of atrocities currently I have the hope that you may be able to
find us a child or siblings needing a safe home immediately.

I would truly appreciate a response and any assistance that you could give us!

My resume Wholesale Food Industry 8 years. Owned a sporting supply shop for
4 years. My mother has been in nursing for 30 years.
My idea, I like many others i see, want to help the KLA with their struggle.
With the help of donations Purchase supplies for the KLA, Food, Uniforms.
While it is not legal to ship them Guns, I think we can take them accessories
Clips ammo, Night Vision equipment, Medical supplies and money so they can
purchase
the supplies we can't get to them.
I would need a few volunteers to go to Albania with me.
We, Thank God, Have a great Armed Force to protect us from the slaughter
these people are going through. They have the KLA, They need our help,
support and prayers.

Dear Friend,
I served as a member of the USKDOM from October to January 1999. I lost
contact with so many good people that I had met while stationed in Pec. One
family in particular took me in and made me a cousin. They moved to
Mitrovica in January but I recently learned from a relative that they made
it out to Albania. Is there any way that I can find out where they are? I
would like to try to make arrangements to bring them to the US. I am also
trying to find y information on the heroic individuals who worked as
interpreters for USKDOM in Pec. I would do anything to try to help them in
any way. If you could give me any assistance I would greatly appreciate it.
There is nothing that I wouldn't do to help in any way I can. Is there any
information on UCK members who might have made it out of Kosovo. I knew
several of them in the western portion of the country. I was in Glodane with
the UCK two days before it was attacked by the MUPs and VJ. I am trying to
finish writing a book about what I saw while I was in Kosovo. I don't think
that most Americans can understand what has happened. Ethnic cleansing is
not a topic that Americans are familiar with. Thank you for your time and
any help you might be able to give to me.

I have been following your people's struggle for almost 3 years now. I
live a world away in America.

You are fighting for the most noble cause there is, the right to live in
peace, raise your children, and live unmolested.
I think the world is waking up to this fact a little at a time. I wish
they had done so sooner.

I wish I was an Albanian. I would join the KLA tomorrow and die in a
cause both right and just. My blood would smooth the way for people to
live in peace, in their own homes someday. And the enemies of this brave
country Kosova would think twice before sending their sons to die for
racist causes.

But I am not Albanian. I hope my country does more to help you in your
struggle.

To all those who oppose intervention in this war, I have this to say.

I hope you are thrust from your homes someday, your family killed, and
your valueables taken.
Left to starve in the hills while your enemies have a free hand in your
lands.
O how we would all wish for someone to help us then, and wish we have
had the weapons to defend ourselves.

Let us help with what we can. What greater reward is there than the
child who is no longer hungry? The family that is no longer cold? The
country that is once again a safe place to live? What price can we put
on these things?

People all over the world don`t understand why Yougoslavia is in such a rage that it would litterally massacre towns of people in Albania..enlighten us please...this is sickening,horrific ...there has got to be a better way to solutions...I support NATO provided they take EXTRA care not to harm civilians as they did today.. why are men in charge of governments...killing always remains their solutions...if more women were in power, it is my belief that solutions would be more peaceful...How many women belong to NATO..How many women are in the Yougoslavia government...think of the children,, think of the babies...think of your own babies...how would you feel if you were an Albanian...where is the collective conscience in Yougoslavakia...people in postion of power need to have some sort of mental illness to accept and order such atrocities..violence breeds more violence.

Hi, Today I saw Serbian vice-chairman of the Yugoslavian Parlament Vladimir Stambuch on Dutch TV. He said quote: There IS peace in Yugoslavia and Kossovo end quote. I am looking at the evening news with a bucket by my side these days. I think the Serbs need a another good history lesson. When this is over they will have another defeat to commemorate: The Battle of Kossovo1999. They will loose this one like the battle in 1389. Another thousand years of pathetic nationalist Serbian lamentations to come. After a month of bombing soon Serbia will have to face the best ground armys of the world. There is no way back for NATO. A diplomatic peace solution is the worst thing that could happen. It will be a victory for the once bank director Slobovan Milosovic. Kossovo could be divided in a Serbian part for Serbia and Albanian part to Albania. But he will demand the Serbian parts of Bosnia to be attached at Serbia in return. The Croates will claim the Croate parts of Bosnia. And Bosnia will be a little Moslem island in the south of Europe. Who will be the victor? Milosovic! Then he has achieved what he is aiming for this last ten years: a great Serbian country. And he will retire with the money he stacked somewhere on a Swiss bank. The alternative? All the way to Beograd! Don't think about anything else. The irony is that Milosovic begun his carreer in Kossovo and it will end in Kossovo. His choice is limited. Prison and facing justice, or he can choose Hitlers fate and kill himself in the last bunker. Berlin 1945 - Beograd 1999. Then peace will be a fact in the Balkan. No dictators in Europe anymore! I think we had enough fascists, communists and other -ists this century. There's no place for them in the next century. The rest of the world will take lessons from it. Freedom!
