THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE SENT THE ALBANIAN PEOPLE MESSAGES OF SUPPORT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

--

To the Albanian-American community:

As a Jew who remembers the Jewish calamity in Europe, I want to
express my moral and emotional solidarity with the Albanian communities in
Kosovo, Albania, America, and worldwide at a time of terrible tragedy for
your people in Kosovo. I am deeply appalled by the Serb atrocities against
the Albanians in Kosovo, especially the alarming reports that the Serbs
murdered 100,000 Albanian men. I have no words to express my grief over the
Serb massacre of 80 Albanian Muslim worshippers during morning prayers at a
mosque in Dzakovo, Kosovo, two weeks ago.
I wish to express my immense personal gratitude to the Albanian
people for not only protecting your own Jewish community but also sheltering
2,000 Jewish refugees from Yugloslavia, Greece, and Austria during the war.
I support the Albanians in Kosovo today because your ancestors protected the
Jews during the worst period in our history. I also want to assure you that
the Jewish people worldwide stand in solidarity with the Albanians during a
time of terrible tragedy for your people in Kosovo, and we are doing
everything in our power to support you.

Sincerely,
Rebecca Witonsky

There is a lot of activity on the East Coast, but very little in the
Bay Area. This is unfortunate since this allows the remnants of the
Stalinist left, and the Isolationist right to set the terms of debate.

Are there any planned activities on the West Coast?

Here's Steve from Qubec city, Canada. I want to express my
sympathy to you people of Kosovo. I'm really overwhelmed by
the things you have to go through. May God give you all the
courage you need.

--

I just wanted to express my total support for your fight. I am an American
who has never before suported a military action, but I am 100% behind
NATO's attacks on Serbia. I feel terrible about the refugee convoy that
was bombed yesterday. (It looks like NATO thinks they may have hit it
accidentally after all). I hope the Albanians can understand and forgive in
the midst of all of the horror they are being put through..

Serbia and Milosovic have to be stopped. We sat and watched through the
atrocities in Bosnia - the hidden concentration camps, the widespread
ethnic cleansing puncuated with mass murders, Srbenica, etc. The Serbs
only got bolder and, apparantly, more brutal and less connected to reality
(their propaganda is unbelievable). The Serbs should be forced to know what
is being done and then let them cry victim.

I am praying everyday for end of this war with justice.

I am interested in becoming a pen pal to a teenager in Albania or Kosova.

Hello my name is Josh. I live in the United States the reason I am
E-mailing you is because I just can't sit in front of my TV any more. I
see how the women have been treated in Kosovo. I am a male age 20 have
my own house and a very good job working on a farm in Nebraska. I look
into some of the eyes of the young women about 19-23 years old some
have children, no families are around them. It seems like I can see the
pain that they are going through. I wish I could talk to some of them
and help save them from what they are going through. I so very wish I
could meet one of them, by whoever gets this e-mail to help me to
communicate to one of those young women from Kosovo I know that it will
be very hard for you to do. My deepest respect for you and what you
could do. I know this might sound weird to you, but to me it would be
so very meaningful to me. I hope very much I will be able to talk to
someone over there finding this person would be so very appreciated, who
ever gets this e-mail please contact me whoever it may be.

--

I hope the world will one day mend from the hatred and stupidity that
one faction of human beings, that are stronger , does to other humans
that dont have the guns to defend themselves. The Serbian people as a
whole must change there attitudes
towards their relationship with the
rest of the world , or be held accountable.
The world will not standby
and see innocent people butcherd.
My heart goes out to the many refugees
And my thanks to NATO.

I am a Turkish man living in Istanbul in Turkey. I have watched the disaster
happening in Kosovo. I don't think I am doing enough by sending money and
clothes to those people and I have a great desire to give a real help to the
people perishing there. Yesterday I was in the tent camp of Kosovars 200 kms
at the west of Istanbul. However unless you have a family member or a
special permission there, it is forbidden to get in to the camp. So, I was
able to talk to some people only from the outside and some refugees from the
inside.

(My intention is to go there with a bus full of food stuff and distribute it
arriving to Kosovo, Albania or Macedonia. On my way back to Turkey I wish to
take as many Kosovar refugees as I can.)

A lady told me the situation was very bad over there. That I couldn't get in
to Kosovo that I would have faced a big danger getting in to there. She said
even Albania is dangerous to go. Mr. Besnik a refugee I spoke to, told me,
it was possible to bring people over here to Turkey if only I took a
permission from the Turkish Consulate or Embassy in Macedonia. He says a
visa is needed to pass through Bulgaria for Kosovar citizens. But the
embassy or consulate in Macedonia gives you some kind of permission to you
which enables you to pass through Bulgaria with your Kosovar refugees.
However somepeople had said earlier that I could not take people over there
by bus as the neighbouring countries don't allow that. I am confused and the
ministry of foreign affairs did not answer my questions yet. I would
appreciate any comments you might give me about this situation. Looking
forward to hearing from you soon and sending you my best regards I remain.
Yours Truly Tolun Cerkes

Right now I wish all those Kosovars freedom, just like the freedom I have here. We pray for all the refugees that have to leave there homes and for those who are still in kosova. The Yugoslav President is asking for it, his time will come, very soon I hope.
I would love to get my hands on the Yugoslav Preseident, otherwise I would like to see him hanged.
I hope the serbian massacres end soon.
The serbes started this hole thing many years ago fighting with
Croatia, Bosnia, and now Kosova. THANKS to all the people who
understand the conflict and are suppoting Kosova.
THANKYOU: Clinton, and NATO Gici Illinois, U.S.A.

Open letter to Lennart Johansson, President of European Soccer (UEFA)

Dear Mr. Lennart Johansson,
I'm Giovanni Armillotta, an Italian journalist.
Yesterday, April 15th, 1999, I understood with dismay, astonishment and
horror, Yugoslavian club will play UEFA Intertoto Cup 1999!!!
see also:
http://www.uefa.org/INTERTOTOCUP/index.asp?Filename=/NewsData/INTERTOTOCUP/

News/indexp.asp?News=1875
I hope UEFA mend its way on decisions of 1992, when
UEFA suspended Yugoslavia from football official activity for its
actions in Bosnia. Bosnians and Albanians are brothers, Bosnia isn't
better than Albania, Albania isn't better than Bosnia: JUSTICE IS
BETTER THAN ALL US!!!
Mr. President Lennart Johansson, my e-mail is also
sent thousands and thousands of Albanians and Kosovars: they await for
your replay not me!

Yours faithfully

Dear Albanian Kosovars,

First I commend you for your great efforts in running your outstanding
homepage.

To my great surprise I found that your homepage includes supporting views
of many persons and nothing about the declarations which I issued under the
Shadow United Nations which I did forward to the leaders of your struggle.

As to Albanian Kosova, I made a thorough study of its legal history and
concluded that its statehood has been obstructed several times, lately by
the illegal annexation of 1989.

I issued three statements as Declarations of the Shadow United Nations and
forwarded them to UN Member States, especially the States Members of the UN
Security Council.

The attached files include those Declarations and the letters I submitted
to NATO Sec.-Gen.

Moreover, I have submitted my legal advise to a number of leading persons
in the struggle of Albanian Kosova, but I observed that it is ignored.

My experience (and writings) in the field of international law, and in
particular self-determination, is 40 years long.

Due to the outbreak of the genocide operation against Kosova, Croatia and
Bosnia I made a thorough legal study of the SFRY and the genocide ideology
of the Serbs and their aggressive moves in the Balkans. I issued a book on
the behaviour of the UN SC and the International Court of Justice in the
case of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was also appointed as the Principal Legal
Agent of the Republic of Chechnya and wrote the first book on its
international legal status, which was translated into Russian and used as a
base for the agreement signed between Chechnya and Russia (represented by
General Alexander Lebed).

The plunders of the UN SC in permitting genocide (in the cases of Kosova,
Croatia and then Bosnia) in this genocide era prompted me to establish the
Shadow UN in Nov. 1993 as an academic organ to crititise the positions,
actions and inactions of the UNO. I issued 8 Shadow UN declarations on
Bosnia and Croatia, also raising the issues of Kosova, Vojvodina and Sandjak.

At the moment I am preparing a DECLARATION ON BEHALF OF THE PEOPLE AND THE
REPUBLIC OF ALBANIAN KOSOVA, which will be a booklet of about 20 pages
only, reviewing the legal history and the international status of Albanian
Kosova until its proclamation of its independent republic and the
developments which took place as a result of the introduction of the
Rambouillet negotiations and the illegal concessions which the
representatives of Albanian Kosova were compelled to make. I also will
include my view that recognition of the statehood of a nation is an
obligation not a free act of States. My said Shadow UN Declarations include
my views in this regard.

I therefore ask you to apply justice to my legal effort and not to deprive
people from knowing and reacting to it.

I am seeking contact with those who legally represent the republic of
Albanian Kosova in order to submit to them my legal advise. Would you
assist me in this regard. Time is running and is at the moment most precious.

As soon as my said booklet on Albanian Kosova is finalised I will e-mail it
to you or you can downlaod it from the Shadow UN website which is now under
reconstruction. I will send you our homepage address as soon as the
reconstruction is accomplished.

God bless you and help us all to assist the Albanian nation of Albanian
Kosova by all means.

Dr. Mohamed Ali Mahmoud
Dir.-Gen. SHADOW UN

Good luck to you all. We hope for peace and safety for you and your families and this all ends soon. Most people believe in your right to freedom from oppression. Myself and my family are horrified at the atrosoties the Serbs have committed against your people. they don`t have the right to call themselves civilised. I would be ashamed if the Australian Army turned its guns on children and unarmed civilians. Our thoughts are with you.

A document available at the Kosova Crisis Center shows clearly that
the current ethnic cleansing policy NOT come about from the bombing.
The plans were laid out by a Yugoslav Deputy Prime Minister who heads
the Serb Radical Party which is deeply involved in the genocide.

Check out the plans for discrediting the KLA in the West (a
process known as disinformation)and for terrorizing the population.
Note how the intent to eliminate the presence of all educated
Albanians resembles exactly what the Nazis did in occupied Poland,
where even elementary schools were closed (mayors, teachers, doctors,
lawyers,etc. were eliminated).

This statement was printed in the Greater Serbia Journal on October
l4, l995--four years ago. Go to http://www.alb-net.com/cleansing.htm

While visiting, get some idea of KLA potential. Note that it has
achieved some successes and attempted to protect towns in spite of being

horribly armed (thanks to our State Department). It makes you wonder
what the KLA might do if properly armed.

State department advisors KNEW about the above document and they STILL
advised the president to keep in place an imbalance of power in favor of

Serbia! Just as appeasement encouraged Hitler’s aggression, our embargo

policy actually INVITED war in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia earlier. It

also INVITED ethnic cleansing as part of that war. That verges on
criminal negligence.

What has happened to common sense? Knowing Milosevic’s aggressive
intent, Albright, Talbot and Holbrook centered their Balkan policy on
the very REVERSE of classical diplomatic advice which says: the best way

to prevent war in a powerkeg area is to further a balance of power which

discourages aggression by making it too costly. Worse yet, where
classic theory rightly suggests that once involved in a war, one should
do everything possible to see that the balance of power FAVOR’S one’s
side, they adhere mindlessly to the embargo doctrine when anyone talks
of arming the KLA.

While still referring to “Mr. Milosevic” and “President Milosevic”
instead of branding him a war criminal, they follow the opposite course
toward the KLA. Knowing of the planned disinformation (see the document

again), they pass it on to our president as gospel truth. Lacking a
trace of military expertise, they assure Clinton that Yugoslav estimates

of the worth of the KLA are correct.

--At the Dayton Peace Accords, Holbrook rewarded the KLA for six years
of peace by giving them a cold shoulder.

--A few days ago, Albright turned down a request by the KLA for arms.

--Today (April 15), Talbott appears on television railing against arming

the KLA by claiming that there has already been “too much militarization

in the Balkans.” He’s right. The problem is that it’s been totally
one-sided and our state department has done everything possible to keep
it that way. Maybe he and his superiors should look at what their
policy has done. The final tragedy is that State Deparment ideas on
how to end the current conflict are as potentially disasterous as the
policies that got us into it. If Milosevic is seen as a winner in any
way after all these war crimes, if Serbia keeps the tiniest piece of
Kosova, it will stick in the craw of every American voter outraged by
the war crimes we have seen. Gore and the Democrats have already lost
the next election because Clinton’s political acumen has deserted him.

If I were the president, I’d replace the entire crew with Zbigniew
Brzezinski, who has grasped the immense flaws in State Department policy

from the start and who has constantly urged arming the KLA. If
Brzezinski had been advising the president, we wouldn’t be in this spot
and the perception that Milovevic is winning would change quickly.

Frank

We are following everyday the sufferings of Kosova population forced to
leave their homes and their belongings and the horrible crimes committed
against them. It's a shame for the World to let these people suffer in the
camps.
As usual, the first victims of violence are women and children. Violence or
rape against them is a threat against the future of our kind and should be
considered as crime against humanity and legal pursuits should be undertaken
over criminals rifght now. How can these soldiers be so heartless and crual?
These women and men were already stripped off all their belongings but they
wanted more, to destroy them totally; their past as well as their future.
They did it by stealing their last property: their dignity and the little
hope left for the future. What will become the children of these tortured
woman, themselves victims or withness of atrocities? Then we will ask to
ourselves why the criminality is dangerously increasing in the World. I
think that the moral support as well as financial support is also very
important for these people. Let them know that all concious people in the
free world are supporting them and will be with them until returning back
home and construct their future. Please don't lose your hope for the future
whatsoever the atrocities you had been submitted. The criminals could not
escape to the international justice.

You are doing a holly work. Let God be with you in your efforts to help this
people.

From: Marek Kohn

After thirty years, the Net has faced and met the challenge for which it
was originally designed. In the late 1960s, computer engineers devised the
idea of a computer network which, by virtue of having no centre, could
survive a massive military attack. Parts of it would be destroyed, but the
rest of the system could reorganise to continue its work. Back then, it
was envisaged that the network would be a US military system, and the
assault would be a nuclear one mounted by the Soviet Union in a war with
NATO. Now the principle has been tested in a war in which the aggressor
appears to have made the destruction of information one of its key
objectives.

A year ago, in this column's predecessor, I referred to Kosova (as the
Albanians spell it) as a state in waiting. Its Web sites could complement
the network of autonomous structures which the Kosovar Albanians had
developed over the previous decade, in a strategy of nonviolent withdrawal
from Yugoslav institutions. I also described Kosovo as the first
Internet-ready conflict. Now, in a war for which NATO supplies the air
power and the Kosovar Albanians the casualties, the Kosovar Web network
has been the first to suffer the effects of a devastating military
offensive. It has turned out to be Internet-ready after all.

The effects of the assault can be read in error messages. "The attempt to
load http://www.kohaditore.com failed," which is unsurprising, since Koha
Ditore is the leading Kosovar Albanian newspaper. Last year, it provided
graphic pictures and accounts of Serbian brutality for Kosovar Web pages.
When NATO started bombing, the paper was suppressed and its premises were
destroyed, Another local media source, the Kosova Information Center,
suffered a similar fate. Pristina's Radio 21, which had been broadcasting
audio reports on the Net in Albanian and English, also ceased operating at
this point. The crackdown is marked by pages that remain on line but
immobile, last updated on March 23. On the Kosova Crisis Center home page,
the links to these sites remain in place, serving as testimonials.

Before the NATO strikes, Kosovar manifestations on the Internet were in a
different league from their Yugoslav opposition. Serbian apologist sites
wallowed in their devious historical rhetoric, while the Kosovar pages
showed the kind of pictures that have only been splashed in the
established media since the war became intercontinental. Since the strikes
began, however, the voices of Serbian grievance have become more diverse.
This is a new development; up to this point, Serbian media presences have
varied only in whether they are more creepy than sinister, or more
sinister than creepy. Now Serbs who sound like normal human beings are
voicing their anger and hurt over being attacked by NATO. Since more of
them have had Internet access than Kosovar Albanians, they have been
better able to colour the tone of e-mail discussions, and to send messages
which are then reproduced in other media.

As many commentators have noted, though, Serbian claims of grievance are
undermined by the indifference shown by Serbs of all shades of opinion
towards the plight of the Kosovar Albanians. In this respect, the myth of
Internet fraternity can be seen as a casualty of the conflict. Facile
prophets of peace through communications technology like to claim that the
free exchange of information leads to political freedom. But satellite
dishes and modems do not seem to have led anti-Milosevic Serbs to take up
the Kosovar cause, even though it was only a mouseclick away. Milosevic
didn't need Internet censorship software to block Kosovar Web sites. The
Serbs already had it installed in their mental operating systems.

For the rest of the world, however, the Kosovar Web remains wounded but
functional. This is a significant symbolic victory in the face of the
Serbian forces' apparent efforts to destroy Kosovar Albanian institutional
records, and the dreadful hints that the intelligentsia itself is also a
target. In the nineteenth century, the emerging nations of Europe kept
themselves alive under imperial rule in their poems, novels and music.
Kosova is the first to add Web sites to the cultural and documentary
baggage that sustains a people in exile. In another twenty years, perhaps,
a struggling nation will be able to store its identity documents and
property records on computers overseas, safe from burning. But unlike a
computer network, a people cannot be sustained by dispersing it around the
world.

I am not Serbian. I am not Albanian.(in fact, i'm jewish). I am not
blind.
i have seen what the serb cowards are doing to the kosovar people-- all
the credible sources on planet earth, including Non-Nato sources like
Swedish TV, Denmark TV, New Zealand TV, etc., etc., have reported that
the Serb army and police have continually, over & over again,
terrorized/brutalized/uprooted/looted/raped and murdered innocent
unarmed civilians.
That's why i support Nato.
I am glad i found your Website--- i will go to the benefit at the Foto
studio on 11th ave here in NYC and make a contribution!

I have found a lot of serbs to chat with at java.ca.us.webchat.org on stopnatobombing channel via the hacked Albanian.com page, but can find no albanian to chat with anywhere. the serbs sound like a team of propaganda specialists and i have learned that serbs have never done even one thing wrong in 1000 years...so even their propaganda works for you here in the USA. If there is a place on the internet to talk in real time with Albanians I would appreciate directions to find it. If not I am hoping someone will consider creating such a place. In the meanwhile it is evidence of what is going on that they have so much facility to chat and spread their version of things while ordinary albanian people do not. Thankyou,

Noel Adamson

dear alb-net, please mail me information on joining the kla,i`m absolutely disgusted in the state of affairs there and want to do my bit. i`m 29 ,ex british royal navy and unable to help financially. my only connection to the war is the fact that i`m a european living in europe and i never thought i would see the likes of ethnic cleansing happen again. chris.

Greetings,

I'd like to know if I can help an Ablanian family that has accepted Kosovar
refugees... I understand they're experiencing an extra strain on their
already small purse, and I would be honored to help a charitable family and
their guests.

The reason I'm writing is because the aid agencies can't guarantee that my
$ will go where I want. I'd greatly appreciate your guidance.

I cannot believe my eyes everytime I see news on this. I hurt so much for these people. I cannot believe that there is such evil that exists. Why can't this be stopped? I would like to know how I can help. If someone can let me know what is needed I will help any possible way that I can.

Firstly, I would like to say that I am very grateful for a site such as
yours where one can get up to date information on the current Kosova crisis
including links to supporting sites.

Such a site is of great value to the Albanian community as well as to all
the people concerned about the current crisis in Kosova.

I am an Albanian from Malsia, currently working in a computer related field
in New York and would like to offer my services helping out in any way I can
in order to get the best and most up to date information to all the world
via your Web Site.

Please let me know if and what type of help is needed...

So much information is on the internet. We in America are confused. I
personally do not trust our President. I cannot fathom the terrible
plight of these precious people. This problem must be solved soon!
What will happen to a million people when winter comes? How can one man
, Slobo, allow his country be destroyed for his own power? There has to
be a way to stop this, I hate it when i see Belgrade being bombed, but
I hate it more when I see the poor refugies being desergrated! God help
us. Thank you Faye

Hi there --

Following is an important new site covering the Kosovo refugee
crisis from the Christian Children's Fund, located at:
http://www.ccfusa.org

Of special note is CCF's work with the displaced children,
email updates from the CCF team in the field, and a secure
online donation form for visitors who can help CCF's efforts.

I sincerely hope you can feature this site in some way, and
thank you for your time.

Best,
Pam

The news has been very disturbing and I'm shocked at the atrocities the
Serbs have committed.

I happened to stumble on your web site through other links and am wondering
why these chilling photos have not been distributed more among the public?
I have been following the war very closely and am appalled at these vicious
crimes against humanity...

Some of these photos suggest concentration camp-like areas where people's
lives are taken. Are the government and media covering this whole issue up?

Thanks.

I am an Australian citizen born in Sydney of Hungarian/Romanian ancestory. I now live in the Balearic Islands, Spain.

I am most distraught about what I am reading in the newspapers and seeing on TV and hearing on the radio. We hear the Serbs are driving the Kosovan Albanians out of their homes and off their land (75% gone already). I am 59 years old and my husband is 71. We try to lead a peaceful life...but the thought of us losing our little island home is devistating. How can the rest of the world allow your people go out into the VERY COLD weather with NOTHING AT ALL, not their little treasures or even essential things for their wellbeing and at the same time leaving all their worldly goods behind? The rest of the world should be thinking about this question every minute of every day.

There can be no peace in our lives whilst we see on a daily basis human beings commiting terrible sins against each other. So this might seem like a selfish act..to write to you. One tries to understand, one tries to help with prayer (we're not religious - but believe in some greater force....perhaps).

The evil that is devouring the world, is also devouring those who are not directly touched by it. Tonight I am so upset I cannot even sleep, let alone with my husband for fear of disturbing him. He is not a young man, but he is strong; I feel I am sapping his strength with my utter frustration and my deep distress about what is happening in your country.

Is NATO going to solve the situation? Who is right, who is wrong? Is Milosevic the Devil? What do we believe?

I can only come to my own conclusion about all of these things. Please....the killing, the deprivation; the cleansing (I abhor that word, but find a kinder one) must stop NOW!

WE ARE ALL ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, looking at the horrified faces of the Kosovars refugees and listening to their account of the attrocities by the Serbs, my stomach turned and I was thinking... Do the Serbs need a World War for five years and then excuse themselves with the words: "Wir haben ess nicht gewust" (We didn't know...) ? I guess not. Serbs are no Germans... Serbs will say "We did know... so what!?" Bomb some common sense into them! They dont care except themselves... No merci for the murderers... and quickly before this madness escalate! This world has seen enough attrocities this century, let's finish in beauty and clean up the dirt wherever it is. And do me a favor show me the pictures when NATO hits the bridge where all those Milosovic fans stand on with that stupid target logo on their coats. Hit them right in the middle!
