THANKS TO ALL OF YOU
WHO HAVE SENT THE ALBANIAN PEOPLE MESSAGES OF SUPPORT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! --
I pray and pray and pray some more, for all of you. I sit here in
my warm and comfortable home. There is food to eat. Something I have
always had. Something I have always believed I would have tomorrow...
without question. I have tried to imagine what it would be like to be
forced from my home. To be given five minutes to gather my children and
perhaps a coat and shoes, or be tortured and killed. It is impossible
for me to grasp. However, it does not mean I do not think about how
that might feel, every single day.
My family, friends and people I do not know, are sending money and
clothesto the refugees. We hope this helps.

Dear friends:
I have been very moved by the situation of Albanians in Kosovo and
would like to offer my help. I am willing to offer training in first
aid and basic emergency medicine to those brave men and women who have
volunteered to leave the comfort of life in America for service in the
KLA.
Just this morning saw the pictures of your recruits - they have much
courage and enthusiasm, but they need proper training before being sent
into battle. I can offer you world-class training in field medicine
that will prepare your soldiers to deal with everything from bullet
wounds to injuries and illnesses caused by cold and fatigue.
A brief summary of my credentials:
- Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician
- Instructor - Emergency Medical Technician, California
- Instructor - Basic Life Support, American Heart Association
- Member, Wilderness Medical Society
- American Red Cross First Aid Caregiver
I would be very happy to talk with you soon. I would be willing to
come to New York to provide classes for your recruits. Though I am not
Albanian, I feel that I must do something to help your struggle.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Lorenzo

This message is written with the intention of
supporting Kosovars and UCK.We, Turks, are aware of the unfortunate events in Balkans.
Nobody should think that Turks are
sleeping and snoring. We are Ottoman and we know our history and we also very patient. The
anger in our society and especially in young generation cannot be described with words.
Serbs should sit down if not we can make them sit down. They were the provacator and major
responsible people causing World War. They are rehearsing their previous role with the
help Big and Old Bear.
--
This is to support all nations against Serbs. We,
Turks, are aware of the unfortunate
happenings in Balkans. We are waiting and patient. If necessary we can easily deal with
Serbs without NATO's support. This is to whom it may concern.

To Whom it May Concern:
I am from a Japanese newspaper, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, and would be
interested to get in contact with some of those brave souls who have
volunteer to go to fight in Kosova. We are hoping to speaking with several
people in the New York or New Jersey area either on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Any help that you could provide in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Again, thank you, in advance, for your help in this situation.
Cordially,

Hello,
My name is Cord Kruse and I am a reporter for the Lower Columbia
College student newspaper, The Logos, in Longview Washington. We are
currently working on a story about local reaction to the crisis in
Kosova. As part of the piece, we will be giving people a brief history
of events which have led up to the current conflict.
If you have time I was wondering if you might be able to answer the
following questions.
How does your organization respond to those who say accounts of Serbian
ethnic cleansing and terrorism are "over-stated"?
Is NATO doing enough to bring peace to the region?
Should ground troops be an option? If so, will the terrain of Kosova
present a significant impediment to NATO forces?
What has the response, in general, been from Albanian-Americans?
Has
there been an outpouring of support from Americans overall?
For those who would like to help refugees and their families what
organizations are available to take contributions?
Thank you for your time,
Cord Kruse

Greetings
There frankly are no words sufficient to describe what the Albanian Kosovars are being
subjected to... Words fail when I try to write how this not just touches, but rends, tears
at our hearts. Our constant prayers are of emotions, wordless, beyond sincere.
Assuming the rest of the world idiots can only hasten their defeat, so it is for me still
a sign of hope, however small it might be.
I have read over and over the most dire predictions for the coming millennium, of so many
versions of Armageddon... Instead I see a world where the peoples are united more then at
any time since the beginning of civilization -- a world united by, through, around the
images and examples of such boundless courage as are the Albanians of Kosovo.
With all our prayers
Mike

My son and I felt a compelling need to help families that have been
separated due to the crisis in Kosovo. We have built a web site to enter
the names of family members and their current location, so that family
members plan can reunite.
The web page address is www.dock.net/abe/kosovo
We realize that most refugees do not have computer access at this time,
but we hope that you will spread the word and the web address around in
print, so that in time it may prove to be a useful tool for displaced
and separated families.

Dear friends:
For months I have watched the new reports of Serbian violence and ethnic
cleansing. I stumbled upon the Crisis Center a couple of days ago. I never
realized the kinds of horrors the Serbian military were committing upon the
Albanian people. I see the pictures of slaughtered women and children and
think "what kind of monster would do this?". It makes my chest hurt to see
pictures of what some humans are capable of. I am reminded of the pictures
in my grandfather's desk drawer of Jews that he helped to free in the war.
We want you to know that the American people weep with you and pray for you
every day. With the exception of our president, we are doing everything we
can to assist you. I wish I could say the same for our government. But
please take some comfort in the fact that the American people stand with you
in your struggle and are willing to sacrifice a great deal for our fellow
human beings - given the chance. That is one of our good traits.
As for us, we are donating as much cash as we can and lobbying our lawmakers
to send in ground troops to finish the job before Milosovich finishes his.
The American people care very much about you and are outraged (an
understatement) by what is occurring.
I'm glad that you have the crisis center for the world to see the truth!!!!
May God keep you and your families

Dear Alb Net,
I would really like to express my support for the Kosovo Albanians
who are being killed, raped and thrown out of their homes and countries. I
am a teenager who plans to go into politics and am setting up a fundraiser at
my school for the Kosovars. Help is on the way and I hope that my school will
bring in enough money to keep some families alive for a week or two. I
really feel for the Albanians being part Albanian myself. It breaks my heart
to see those people out there on the streets without a home and without a
country. I plan to help as much as possible.
Sincerely Yours,
Andrew McQuinn

I am an 18 year old from Southern California and it
just kills me to hear about everything that is going
on in Kosovo. Last Sunday at church, we had a moment
of prayer for everyone involved in this mess,
especially the refugees. I pray for you every day, and
want you to know that there are people all over the
world who do the same. It is painful to see the images
of the refugees splashed all over the media, and we
think about you everyday. we are praying for you all,
and praying that god will forgive the souls of the
people who have so much hatred in their hearts.
God Bless you all. Keep strong.
"His strength is perfect when our strength is gone.
He'll carry us when we can't carry on. Raised in his
power the weak become strong. His strength is
perfect."

I am writing this to you because I am so disturbed by
the images and news that i have seen on the mediaabout
the events in Kosovo.
I was getting frustrated with the fact that I am only
an 18 year old girl who cannot do anything about it,
but then I began to think about the power of prayer in
our world. It can do amazing things. I realized that
it would make a huge difference if we could somehow
have an ongoing prayer vigil for those people in
Kosovo, and all involved.
I am hoping that when you get this email, you will
take a moment and say a prayer for the refugees, the
relief workers, the people who are bombing, and the
people who are being bombed. As well as for the
parties who are carrying out this 'ethnic cleansing'
as they call it. If you send it to everyone in your
address book, regardless of their religion, age, or
the way they feel about the war, they can send it to
everyone in theirs, and so on. I am hoping to soon
have a prayer vigil going, with new people reading
this email and saying a prayer 24 hours a day. Even if
you receive it more than once, please say another
prayer. It may not seem like much, but it can make a
world of difference.
Thank you, and God Bless!
Melissa, California (4/12/99)

we are all together!do not worry Albanians........Until the last one stands,
you will be there and we will help you ..........This butcher will be

First let me say that I support NATO's actions. Something had to
be done to let Melosovic know that he 'could' be opposed and opposed by strength, not just
by a rag-tag army (KLA) without weapons. I also support U.S. participation because this is
the first time the countries of Europe have been willing to do anything except sit on
their collective butts and 'report' what has been happening there. Gene, Amarillo, Texas

To Whom It May Concern,
Ifeel very terrible about what is going on in Kosova. I can hardly sleep at
night when I think about the terrible situation the people of kosova are in.
I want to help. I am a sergeant in the Army. I have been trained how to
fight. I saw on the newsthat some American Albanians are going to be serving
with the KLA. I would be more than honored to fight too. I am not Albanian
but I would fight as if it were my homeland. I can't stand around and watch
this on the news, I want to act.
I don't expect to save kosova alone, I am not disillusioned, but I feel a
strong desire to help,
Sincerely,
R. |
