THANKS TO ALL OF YOU
WHO HAVE SENT THE ALBANIAN PEOPLE MESSAGES OF SUPPORT. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! --
I am very willing to accommodate a family being relocated
due to the central European discord that has resulted in the expulsion of the residents of
Kosovo. It took a great deal of effort to find a web site to respond to, but now that I
have found one, I would like to express my willingness to support a family or even a group
of refugees that may not be related to offer them a residence (temporary or otherwise) in
America.

Friends,
My name is Brendan Cox and I have worked with children badly affected by
the war in the former Yugoslavia for the last two years. The kids I have
worked with were from the 'cleansed' areas of Croatia and Bosnia.. This
summer I am coming out to the region again to work with the charity
Sunrise City(it is croatian based) again to work with kids with
psycosocial disturbances. I may however have some time free between June
and October and would thus like to know if you need people to do any
work out in the region. If you do need people please get in contact with
me as soon as you can, thanks.
I hope I can be of some help,

Dear Albanian People!
The following is (only) a satire. But it shows how crazy "peace activists"
here in the West can become... Here we go:
Sensational find in a World War II newspaper archive!
(If you find parallels to present day pacifists' statements, don't be
surprised...)
PEACE GROUP CALLS NORMANDY INVASION "WAR-MONGERING"
Stockholm - 7 June 1944.
"Disbelief and disgust", were her first reactions this morning when she
heard about an allied invasion on the beaches of Normandy, a spokesperson
for the Swedish peace group SKB (or Stöppska Krautö Bäshingen) told
journalists in a press conference hastily summoned after yesterday's
breaking news. "This is a horrible escalation of a totally unfounded
aggression against the sovereign German Reich," she said, obviously upset by
this latest development. The looming ground war her group always had warned
against would certainly not contribute to a peaceful settlement of the
conflict with Germany, she added.
Asked about feasible alternatives to ground troops in the European war
theatre, the peace activist pointed out that, "The Allies should get back to
the negotiation table with Mr. Hitler as soon as possible. He is the
democratically elected führer of Germany. This latest allied aggression is
therefore a blatant breach of international law." Mr. Hitler, so the SKP
spokesperson continued, had every right to complain about ongoing allied
bombing of German facilities, since these strafing attacks were aimed also
at civilian targets.
"Constant power outages and the increasing food shortage the German people
have to endure will certainly not improve the situation of one single inmate
of so-called concentration camps," the pacifist continued and added that
"there is still no objective proof whether these concentration camps even
exist: those alleged atrocities might very well be part of allied propaganda
to gain public support back home for this terrible war."
What adds to the problem, said the peace activist, is that the allied
landing took place in a bird sanctuary, where thousands of eggs of some rare
species were destroyed by allied artillery fire.
Says SKB, "It all figures. Allied forces kill birds in Normandy while Mr.
Hitler - the caring owner of a German shepherd dog - personally tried to
protect these innocent animals by initially not releasing the 21st Panzer
Division (*) for a counterattack. So, who is the criminal in this war?"
------
(*) History footnote: Hitler really was initially unwilling to release his
armoured divisions (but not for ornithology reasons, I guess...). When he
relented after midday of 6 June 1944, elements of the 21st Panzer Division
drove into the gap between the British 3rd and Canadian 3rd divisions at
Sword Beach and Juno Beach and almost reached the sea. Had they done so, the
allied landings might have failed. (Now, isn't that a pity, my dear peace
activists?)

I read every day your news report, I watch the news on TV,
ect...ect...but observing the actions taken and done resently by KLA brigades, it seems to
me that KLA troops could get close to Serbs military assets or even touch them.
My comments is to the fact that KLA or its associates could
ear mark Serb tanks and/or armored vehicles with electronic devices (beepers). These
artifacts will help NATO aircrafts to aim more accurately at them at any time and at any
weather. Your intel-ligence people should know more about this.
What I don't understand is that you know where the enemy is
and its been real difficult for KLA and others to neutralize them.
I learned while in the military a doctrine that
states - When you start a war you fight the war until the enemy looses the will
to fight-
Are you doing that? It seems that the Serbs (Milosevic) are
getting stronger locally and throughout the world.
These are my comments, thanks.
Can you reply? I'll be gratefull.

Dear Friends,
You really should try to update your site more often. It is impressive
how you are able to pull together a great many interesting news articles
and reports from a broad array of sources. It is always interesting to
read the latest news on Kosova that is posted there. I think a lot of
people must come to this site, because I have seen links for it on
various government web pages and newsgroups as well as internet
providers. This is a crucial time for the history of Kosova. Please
continue to keep up the good work that you have been doing. It is a
valuable and much needed service, especially right now.
Thank you,

Dear Kosovars;
If you will, please, recall to mind an old American (romantic)
tradition, the story of a yellow ribbon, of which the most recent example can be
found lieu of three captured Amrican soldiers in Macedonia. Long before (a whole month
before!) in home towns of these three Americans there were everywhere to
be seen yellow ribbon tied around the trees, houses, posts, front
porches, hydro-polls, etc.
Thus the impact was so much more pronounced with the release of the
captives one more time (even if not every time!). The symbolizam in all
this is dramaticaly simple -- it is a HOPE of HOMECOMING!
So, here is a suggestion:
Have every Kosovar (Liberation Army) soldier tie a yellow ribbon
where-ever possible. On houses, on trees, on fences, on their riffles.
Off all people, Americans WILL lean even stronger on the side of your
people, of Kosovo. It may be romantic, but rest assured, the impact on the
American people will be tremendous, beyond anything KOSOVARS
can ever dream to achieve.
So, please, go for it. Let the yellow ribbon be Kosovo symbol, too!
Pass it on. It's worth a try.
Just make sure the KLA members are the ones who will take the
CNN "crew" past first few villages in Kosovo. The rest will be history.
Wishing you, before anything else, FREEDOM, sincerely your's,
the Morgans

I am writing to express solidarity with all the Albanian deportees who
since March 24, 1999, have continued to be subjected to mass expulsions,
torture, rape, and murder, at the behest of a depraved leadership
consisting of war criminals and an assortment of other degenerates in
Belgrade.
I would like you to know that your cry of anguish, pain and suffering
has reverberated through out the world, particularly by a number of us
who are your fellow Muslims. We have continued to offer material as well
as moral support to all those whose efforts are directed at reversing
the policies of ethnic cleansing by the Belgrade regime. We realize that
the your lives have been deeply scarred forever, but this colossal human
tragedy will come to pass. We are entering into a new age in which new
international norms of human decency, justice, and peace will partly be
forged out of what you have experience. To that extent, I firmly believe
that your suffering has not been in vain.
Long live the Albanian people of Kosovo, who will survive, despite the
attempt to render them "non-existent" in Yugoslavia!
Yours in solidarity

To whom it may concern,
Hello, My name is Lauren Doolan. I am 15 years old and a Student at Bishop
Fenwick High School in Peabody, Ma. I was deeply moved by the story of the
Kosovo refugees. I was wondering if it was at all possible to take up a
collection of items like school supplies, which I heard they need and send it
over. I'm not sure if this is a realistic idea but I don't have a lot of
money to aid them with but I have time. I would like to help them in any way
possible so if you know of another way I could aid them please let me know.
Also could you help me get in contact with anyone else who could help me. I
appreciate you taking time to read this.
Thank You again,
Lauren Doolan

Dear Friends,
After the peace comes and the tears stop, who will tell this most recent
chapter of the history of your people? Your's is a tragic tale, and yet
at the same time it is a very special story. It must be recorded and
preserved.
The story of your suffering and brutalization at the hands of the
Serbs. You faced unspeakable horrors with dignity and perseverance for
many years all alone before most of the world even learned of the name
of Kosovo. The story of how the world's greatest superpower came to the
defense of your beleaguered people. The story of the atrocities and
crimes against humanity committed by the Serb forces and their president
-- atrocities equaled in history only by the Nazi's and Hitler. The
heartbreaking plight of the refugees. The valiant effort of the KLA and
of the many heroes among their ranks -- they are the fathers, husbands
and sons of your people. The outpouring of love, sympathy and
generosity from people of every corner of the world whose hearts ached
because of your tragedy. Your future efforts to rebuild. Your hope of
a bright future...
Your story must be told! Movies should be made, books written, and
journals and records preserved. Milosovic tried to erase your history,
but he failed. Ironically, he succeeded only in sullying the history of
his own people in the eyes of the world.
This is a tale of good versus evil, of light over darkness, of hope and
courage defeating fear and fascism. Kosova is tiny, but your small land
and its courageous people will now always be a part of our history in
the U.S. Your's is an important story. It is sad, but also poetic and
romantic. In America, we always root for the underdog; we always
sympathize with those who are oppressed. Our own ancestors were once
oppressed. But America's forefathers were brave and strong, and now we
have had a long history of freedom and democracy. In fact, we are a
symbol of freedom to the whole world.
Sadly, another reason why your story must be told over and over again,
is because undoubtedly the Serbs will try to manipulate history. They
will deny their atrocities. They will paint you, the victims, as the
aggressors. And just as some people in the world try to say that the
Jewish Holocaust never happened, the Serbs will try to say that the
Kosovar Holocaust never happened. They are masters of propaganda. In
fact, their propaganda machine is almost as shameful and criminal as
their military machine.
So tell your story loud and clear. And tell the whole world, again, to
never forget that genocide took place in Europe, again. If I was a
writer, I would write a book about your story. Others may try to, but
it is really up to you. Write your stories. Make your movies. Build
your memorials and inscribe on them the names of all of your loved ones
so brutally taken from you and of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed
their lives for your freedom. Build your monuments (including one
recognizing the help of America and NATO). The moral of your story is a
history lesson for the whole world and a warning to ruthless dictators
everywhere of the shame and defeat that will always be their ultimate
reward.
Also, never let the Serbs forget what they have done to you, until they
can accept the truth and make amends. In my mind, Serb=Nazi, and it
will be that way for many years, or at least until they can honestly
accept what they have done and make sincere efforts to redeem
themselves. Their self pitying and self righteous protests now leave my
heart cold. They elected Milosovic and ignored what was happening in
Kosovo, Bosnia, and Croatia for many years, long before the first NATO
bomb fell. They have now learned that there is a very heavy price to be
paid for genocide.
But for the Kosovars, my heart is warm and overflowing with sympathy and
love. I pray for you daily. May God be with you and comfort you during
this difficult time.
Your friend,
Faith

two? Tom.

I personally would relish the thought of seeing him suffer as the
Albaninas have. But this is coming from an almost militant American
teenager. I will not be satisfied with a peace agreement from him, don't
we all know how many times he's lied to the world and to those people he
has committed crimes against. These people will likely seek revenge on
Milosevic's regime, and this may lead to even more violence. The biggest
problem common to revenge is the fact that it keeps going back and
forth, especially with issues like these, of Kosovo, where old festering
hatred resurfaces time and again. God, when I see all the pictures of
suffering and loss, I feel like crying. I'm so sick of it all, of people
dying every day in the camps, or in Kosovo. Independence would be better
for them, I think, than remaining united with Serbia and having
"autonomy". If they were to remain with Serbia, there would be an
extremely high level of resentment and bitterness between the Kosovars
and the Serbs, even though not all Serbs are alike, some of them even
risked their lives, property, or whatever to help them.I only hope the
military effort does not end here, or on Sunday for that matter, until
there is more credible evidence that peace will come in truth, not just
according to an agreement signed by Milosevic. That would mean very
little to me if I were the American president.
I wish you all the best,
I pray for the refugees every day, please send me a response as soon as
you are able.

I just want to express my solidarity with
your struggle and suffering.
I hope and trust that NATO will finish the
job and that all refugees will be able to return home.
Words cannot make up for the losses suffered.
However, maybe from this conflict will come the posibility of
the whole of the Bakans becoming part of modern Europe and the 20th century, and the
ethnic cleansing and hatred will become a thing of the past.

I work for a recognised agency and I am going to be helping with the
arrangements for the Kosovar refugees entering England on 18th June or
thereabouts - can you send me any information about the customs and ways of
the people e.g. I know that they are Muslims and do not eat pork. I have
heard that Italian is a "second language" for Albanians - is this true? I
have begun to learn Italian and would like to communicate with them when
they arrive. We are all very keen to help the refugees and will do our very
best to make their stay in our country a pleasant one. We know that they
will be very tired when they arrive and unsure of what to expect. Please
reassure them that they will be safe here and we will do our utmost to help
them to settle down.

We are an American family who received a couple on June 3. They left

less than 3 weeks ago, walked to Macedonia and were selected by Interfaith
Refugee Mission in New Haven, CT, USA to be flown to this country. We are
not affiliated with any church or with Interfaith, but made application when
the tragedy in Albania began to unfold. We could not afford to send money

guests are exhausted, asleep while I write this. I hope to be able to
connect them throught the internet with what is familiar to them. Please
email us back and I will show them how to use the computer. They are very
worried about the family members they left behind. They are grieving the
loss of a child and are anxious about their uncertain future. We have
established a connection with them, though we only know what they have taught
us of their language.
We would like to know more of what foods they eat, their customs, etc. They
are Muslims--we know nothing of that, either! We just have love and room.

The articles that I have just read are, of course, very upsetting. I want
to praise the authors who wrote with restraint and in excellent English- no
misspelled words, easy to follow and understand. Thank your for continuing
to send me these stories. I will see what I can do to help. If you have
any contact with the KLA, tell them not to turn their guns in. My heart
goes out to the victims who have suffered horribly. It is important that
the refugees be informed ab out their psychological problems- flashbacks,
sleeplessness, depression, mood fluctuation, etc. This information is the
first step in helping them recover from a trauma which will haunt them for a
long time, to some extent forever. Would it be possible for me to send you
an information sheet regarding what is called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
or who could I have this information sent to so that it could be translated
and given to the refugees. Knowledge becomes empowerment. It would
assure the refugees that they are not crazy but suffering the affect of a
most dreadful trauma. What is your suggestion? A piece of paper sounds
absurd but this has been done for other groups and it help assure the person
that what they are experiencing is normal for what they have gone through.
Anyway thanks for keeping me informed.

I hope all works ot well for you. Will support whatever it
takes to get you folks back to your homes in Kosovo.
Having milo remain in power is not gonna be too acceptable.
Would support ANYONE else to head serbia, even restoring the King! Milo has GOT to go.
Independent Kosovo is fine by me too. Am also interested in hiring albanians who may be
moving to my area.I dont have a lot of work, but there are some car repair jobs, and home
repair jos that may provide someone with some extra cash. Friedrich.

Hi, I am a social work student at McGill
University, Montreal, Canada. I am doing a research project on the arrival of the Kosovars
here in Montreal, and I would love to be able to talk to someone (via e-mail or telephone)
to obtain some information. I am particularly interested in how we could assist the
Kosovars' social integration here, but would be open to discussing other issues you think
will be important to them too. Please help as soon as possible! Thank you. Monica
Karal.

Hi there, I was wondering what I can do to help stop the genocide,
and such atrocities against the albanians. I have very little money. Are
there any other ways to help.

I was sitting here looking at all of the deaths that have been placed on
this web site. I had to e-mail it to a co-worker.I can not believe that a
man can be so brutal.I don't see how anyone can live with themselves after
doing something like this. But I know that when Christ comes back everyone
will have to pay for their wrong doings.I just can not comprehend how
someone can be so hateful. And the said part is that he doesn't even realize
it,and if Slobadan Milosevic ever does realize how wrong he is the people
who has already died had to pay for his ignorance. Thanks Sharon
Turner:Father forgive Him for he doesn't know what he has done to your
people.

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a Service Adviser at the University of Lincolnshire and
Humberside Learning Support Centre and we have had a request from a
refugee centre asking where it might be possible to get Albanian
newspapers. Do you know where they would be able to get hold of any?
I would be grateful for any assistance.
Thanks

Hi,
I am a mother of 3 girls. In the past couple of months we have gathered up
clothes that we just don't use anymore. I have at least 4 large bags.
Where in the general Phoenix, AZ area can I drop these off for the kind
refugees that have joined our community?
God Bless and keep them all safe from anymore harm and sadness.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Shara

Hello, I would like to extend greetings of solidarity with your people's
brave struggle for freedom led by the Kosova Liberation Army. I am
concerned about the motives of my government (U.S.) for its involvement
and by the text of the agreement I obtained from the BBC website, which
stated that the degree of autonomy for Kosova will be determined by the
U.N. Security Council. Isn't this the same body NATO had to bypass in
order to militarily intervene? Considering that none of the NATO
countries recognizes your independence from Serbia, let alone
Yugoslavia, what kind of resolution could emerge from the Security
Council? I believe the U.S. and its allies would be vulnerable to
demands for a referendum to decide your political status independently,
particularly in the wake of the genocidal actions of Serbia. I'm sure
the people of the world would understand Kosova's rejection of any
settlement imposed on it without its consent, so I hope you are
insisting on representation.
Sincerely, Jeff Armstrong

JUST YESTERDAY A KOSOVO FAMILY CAME INTO OUR NEIGHBORHOOD. WE
LIVE IN THE USA. MY DAUGHTER WHO IS SIX AND THEIR TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER BECAME
FRIENDS IN NO TIME FLAT. THEY SPEAK DIFFERENT LANGUAGES BUT ARE ABLE TO GET ALONG
WITH NO PROBLEMS. AS ADULTS WE'RE ALWAYS TELLING OUR CHILDREN HOW TO ACT AND HOW TO
GET ALONG WITH OTHERS. MAYBE THE WORLD'S ADULTS SHOULD LEARN FROM OUR CHILDREN HOW TO
REALLY GET ALONG WITH EACH OTHER AND HOW TO ACCEPT EACH
OTHERS DIFFERNCES. CHRIS.

Where do I find News of Kosova in Albanish instead
of English? I have friends who only speak Albanish??? Betsy

Dear Kosova Crisis Center,
For the past two months, I noticed that Yahoo News featured your web
site along with links to only a handful of other sites with regard to
the war. It seemed your web site was in very good company to be with
CNN and BBC (along with some pro-Serb sites). But today I noticed it
was no longer there. This may be because you did not update your site
for more than a week. I think it is extremely important that you update
your site every day or at least every other day.
This is a defining moment in the history of Kosova and for the Albanian
people. Now is the times to get your message out loud and clear and for
all to hear. Now is the time to do all that you can to influence public
opinion and to steer the political debate. Later on, it will be too
late. That is why you must update your site regularly, provide new
information constantly, and do whatever else you can to get your message
out to the people.
As a visitor to your site, I like two areas in particular: the news
updates and the letters of support.
When I look for news on Kosova, besides looking in our local papers, I
go to three web sites: KosovaPress, KosovaInfo, and alb-net.com. Your
site, however, is by far the best, because you are able to gather news
stories from all over the world. I have read some very interesting
things on your web site, and I will often fax certain news stories to
our local papers if I think they are of special importance or ones that
they may have missed. NATO will never talk about chemical weapons used
by the Serbs or about people dying of starvation in the mountains (I
guess if they did admit to these things, then they would become morally
obligated to send in ground troops a lot sooner that they want to). It
is only on web sites like yours that this information will be found.
Secondly, I really like the "letters of support" section. It is
interesting to read what other people have to say about this war. It is
also impressive to see so many letters of support from all over the
world. So I hope that you will continue to post them. But don't feel
you have to post them all, only those which are good. For example, you
may wish to consider whether it is wise to post letters talking about
"jihad" (unfortunately that word has been used so many times in the U.S.
in a pejorative way that it now scares most Americans to death) or those
from narrow-minded people talking about "Christian devils" (don't forget
that the major Christian countries or the world are fighting on your
behalf), so you may want to leave those types of letters out. (By the
way, my parents are both Moslem and Christian.) However, I think it is
important to post most of the other letters of support for another good
reason -- they are probably the only letters of support that our
political leaders, our troops, and the KLA fighters will ever read. I
honestly have not seen any pro-NATO/pro-Kosova letters printed anywhere
else. For example, I went to the congressvote.com site (provided by
your link) to express my views to my congressman and senators, and I can
tell you that of the 70 messages posted on the subject, mine was one of
only 2 that were in support of your cause. So you can see how it must
be very discouraging for our representatives to keep backing this fight
when all they get is hate mail.
Anyway, I just want to encourage you to keep up this web site. This is
as much a propaganda war as it is a military war, and the Serb
propaganda machine seems to be just as brutal and criminal as their war
machine. I am sure it probably seems overwhelming at times to try to
keep up with them. But you must keep up! I am neither Albanian nor
Kosovar, yet I care deeply about what is happening in Kosova. If I can
spend 1-2 hours a day following the news on this war and writing you
this letter, I know that you can spend 1-2 hours a day updating the web
site. The effort you put into it will be far exceeded by the benefits
that will result. So keep up the good work!
May God bless you all.
(P.S. You don't have to post this letter. I just wanted to give you my
opinion about how valuable your web site is.)

I am a writer planning to visit Tirana in the near future to cover aid to
Kosovo refugees from Saudi Arabia, as well from other Arabian Gulf and Arab
world countries. Can you provide names and contact information for
individuals in Tirana or elsewhere who might offer insights into the
challenges of getting aid to the right people in the right places at the
right times. I am anxious to get a good picture the aid activities noted
above. Any assistance would be appreciated. Many thanks, Arthur Clark

My 23-year-old son is on a mission trip in Albania. He has been there
since
May 27th, and will return to the states on July 1st. I found your site
while surfing the web on Albania news. Thank you. Peggy O.

If i can collaborate anyway with you i am ready!

I rarely see news like you or kosovapress anywhere on the major news
channels. *You must make it a priority to get your news to AP, Reuters,
BBC, CNN and all the major news organizations*, so that more people can
become aware of things like the continuing mining of Kosova by Serb
forces even while the peace document is signed.
We need to know.
Further, please update your site in english as often as possible, I
read kosovapress, and they update at least once a day, but sometimes,
you go for days without an update.
I know that you and kosovapress have much the same news stories from
within Kosova, but your format is better, and your other chosen articles
are very good. Especially liked the coverage by Noel Malcolm.

KOSOVA
BY: AMANY HAJYASSIN ( 16 YEARS OLD )
DEDICATED TO THE PEOPLE IN KOSOVA
MAY PEACE BE UPON YOU ALL
THE PEOPLE IN KOSOVA ARE DYING
IS THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO?
LETS ALL GET TOGETHER
AND HELP THESE PEOPLE GET THROUGH
THEIR SUFFERING IN GREAT PAIN
THEIR LIFE THEIR TRYING TO GAIN
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO THEM?
WHAT MADE MILOSEVIC DO JUST A THING?
THESE PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING TO DEATH
JUST BECAUSE OF WHO THEY ARE
LEAVING THEIR HOPES AND DREAMS SO FAR
MILOSEVIC IS INSANE
LEAVING THE PEOPLE IN KOSOVA
AND AROUND THE WORLD IN PAIN
TRAVELING FROM LEFT TO RIGHT
TRYING TO GET SOMEWHERE
LEAVING THEIR HOMES AND BELONGINGS
SO MILOSEVIC CAN GET HIS SHARE
THESE PEOPLE DONT DESERVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THIS
AND THEIR CHILDREN DONT UNDERSTAND
WE NEED TO STEP UP
AND LEND THESE PEOPLE A HELPING HAND
THESE PEOPLE HAVE TOUCHED MY HEART AND SOUL
THEIR LIVES SEEM TO BE LEFT IN A GIANT HOLE
THEIR TEARS DRIP DOWN FROM THEIR EYES
MY HEART HAS CRACKED FROM THEIR CRIES
THE DARKNESS AROUND THEM IS VERY DEEP
WHAT MADE MILOSEVIC TURN TO MURDER?
WHAT MADE HIM PUT THOSE PEOPLE TO SLEEP?
SILENT MURDERS AND SILENT CRIES
YOUR SOULS AT PEACE
MAY MILOSEVIC PAY
BECAUSE NONE OF YOU DESERVED TO DIE

Our local paper, the Orange County Register, has started publishing an
on-going story of an Orange County woman who has traveled to Albania to
seek the freedom of her fiancé's family from a refugee camp. The
dispatches are interesting and can be found at www.ocregister.com.
If
you find them interesting you might want to post them on your web site.
