After reading this article, I became very saddened that this struggle
to prove ones own identity would have to be so insanely difficult because
of a bizarre nationalistic aim of another people for a power hold on the
region. I don't believe it is even worth fighting the concoctions and
false theories of the nationalist Serbian "historians" anymore. Dump them.
At home I have a copy of the "Oxford Family Encyclopedia" and it clearly
says when the Slavs invaded the Balkans and where they originated and that
the Albanians are descendants of the Ancient Illyrians. Also, from
Encyclopaedia Britanicca online, I have found excellent resources looking
under "Kosovo" and "Albania". Some of the resources are from Yugoslav
history sources, and one can clearly see there the bias. But through so
many other sources, than Yugoslav ones, there is no doubt about the
Albanians being decendants of the Illyrians. And their ancient role in the
Kosova region.
Unfortunately, VERY unfortunately, I do read today in many articles in the
United States, the moreYugoslav sided version, mostly about the "Battle of
Kosovo" and I believe that is where the struggle still rests. Personally,
through my own research I realize there were many battles in Kosovo, and
Albanians fought the Ottomans as well, including a leader who held them off
14 times. But , in my opinion, most of these American journalists are
simply lazy, and not even doing their own research, but relying on someone
elses history books.
Linguistic and arcaological sciences are the greatest proofs in this day
and age.
I think it best to focus not on struggling with the bogus nationalist
theories coming from Serbian nationalists, but to focus on the real
information that is out there and concentrate on presenting that to the
national community. To the United States.
I am not a professional journalist, but I have taken deep interest in the
plight of the ethnic Albanian. Maybe because I am Finnish, and in history
there was an effort to both try to "Swedisize" and "Russificize" the Finns.
They had to fight to retain their language and culture through these two
dominant powers, until they finally gained their independence in 1917.
I appreciate these articles very much. I am only so sorry that your
struggle for justice has been and still is up against such an evil.

supporting Serb nationalism to the point that he agreed with serb terrorism & killings. Where do I find it?

I also wish to know official positions of Kosova Provisory Government on orthodox church remaining there in Pec, Prishtina and other places, as for
plans to restore albanian monuments in Kosova and orthodox monasteries.

Alb-Net Response: Shqipëria is the term for Albania in Albanian, which means Land of the Eagles. Albanians, or Shqiptarë literally means "Sons of the Eagle."

for a long time now, I have done what I could for the independence of
Kosova. One of my articles (http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/simop.htm) was
also published somewhere on your web page.

Presently, however, I find myself unable to continue to do anything,
because of recent UCK-actions. As you have yourself reported in your
news, and as has been reported far more clearly in numerous press
reports, even on our local press here by German reporters in the German
sector of Kosova, UCK commandos attack aagain and again non-Albanian
citizens of Kosova in a way identical with previous Serbian actions.
Girls are raped, even nuns. Old, helpless people are killed. Houses are
pillaged and burnt down. In an UcK barracks in Prizren, German soldiers
have discovered a torture chamber of the UcK! The scale of these actions
is, of course, far more limited than that of the Serbian crimes. But
that is due to the efforts of KFOR. These actions clearly are no simple
isolated individual acts of revenge (which also would not be justified
but would to some degree be understandable). They are of the same nature
as those by the Serbian government: they are planned and organized
racist genocidal crimes. This is by now also seen by the Albanian press,
which has started also to publish such reports, but only very
cautiously. The Albanian journalists evidently are afraid. So we have
here, actually, the beginning of a reign of terror which might in the
end be equal to that of Miloshevic. It already now hinders protests
against the continued Serbian prosecution of Albanians in Southern
Serbia (Eastern Kosova) and against the continued Serbian occupation of
parts of Northern Kosova. For how can I or anybody else protest against
this when the Serbs now are doing only what the Kosovars do themselves?
This is an absolutely terrible situation. The UcK or those in the UcK
who plan and organize and execute such actions actually giving the final
voctory to Milosheviq! Please talk out against these criminals loud and
clear! Condemn the criminal elements in the UcK, name names! If you are
really fighting for Kosovar independence, you have to stand up now, or
you can forget about freedom for Kosova. This is something you have to
do. Protests by foreigners like myself are not enough (I did protest
already, in letters to Zeri ditor, which published the letter, and in
another to Koha ditore, which has not published it to date); you must
yourselves have the courage to speak up now!

Yes, I do understand all that has been done to the Kosovars. Have
supported the air campaign, and was ready to support a ground campaign.
Now is the time for Kosovars to show that they are *not* like those Serb
thugs sent by Slobo. Show the world that you are different. Put a
human corridor around those Serbs still in Kosova. Worry about those
that were part of the slaughter until they can be fairly tried in a
court of law. By doing what Slobo's men did, only makes me wonder if we
now need to take action against the Kosovars. Do some PR. Show the
news folks you are serious. Make it evident that you aren't like
Slobo. Replacing one set of killing with another is such a waste.

    I became aware of your website because I am very fortunate to be a receipient of communication from the Women in Black organization. They realize that my heart is pure and that I have only the best intentions for the good and decent people of the entire world. That message is as follows: I have just read of the plight of Dr. Flora Brovina who impresses me as a wonderful person. I have, as a private US citizen, emailed President Clinton, Madeline Albright, and Jesse Helms as was suggested in the email that I received from Moira Fradinger at Yale University.
    As a publisher of a unique periodical entitled True Democracy, we will do much more, but it will take time. My magazine is not available at this time. Just yesterday, I emailed Moira Fradinger because I need help. I am not a rich person financially. I am rich in knowledge about my US Government because of my friend who is from Iran. He shared so much information with me about what my Government did to Iran, and even Israel, that this is the reason that I could become a publisher. I knew him in Los Angeles, where I lived all my life until nearly the age of 47.
    I moved to New York, got a library master's degree and learned, what for me made all the puzzle pieces fit--the REAL reason that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. It has to do with what he wanted to do. The entire world was betrayed when JFK was murdered by my own Government.
    We will come together and make my terribly corrupt Federal Government accountable to the good people of the entire world with my magazine. True Democracy will be translated into every country's language so the people of the world will be able to read what it says.

Look for yourself. Check army movements inside Kosova. Milosevic would
be a fool not to do it. Leaving Serb paramilitary in Kosova, disarming
the KLA and bringing it 3,500 Russia peacekeepers provides the perfect
opporutnity. Take preventive action before it is too late!

The move against Montenegro may (yes, may) wait until the arrival of
more Russia peacekeepers. With them and Serb paramilitary forces
already in place behind outnumberbed NATO forces and disarmed KLA, you
can't stop this plan. He'd be stupid not to try it.

Do not take this scenario likely. It's Milo and the Russians to a "T."
Remember what happened at Pristina airport. Note the capture of six MUP
soldiers coordinating with paramilitary. I guarantee this is exactly
what Milo, the Russians and Serb MUP and paramilitary guerillas inside
Kosova have in mind.

It is a perfect strategy for Milo and the Russians and
a very probable one. I'm not sure if you can stop it unless you act
first. Please contact NATO allies and get more force there first.

Also, the situation in Mitrovice must be resolved before the Russian
peacekeepers arrive or you will face problems that folks will say you
should have anticipated.

I am Albanian-American from Prespa Macedonia. I have done all the things
that I can to help Albanians in Kosova and continue to do so. One thing that
I think Albanians should stress and inform the American public is our
ancestrial hetitage in Kosova, due back thousands of years ago. We must do
this because there are a lot of people trying to "re-invent" history. Also,
please send me info about Kosova.
Albanians were in Kosovo before any Serbs ever existed (Newsweek
Magazine, April 5th edition, page 38). Albanians are Illyrians. The
Albanian laguage is that closest to the ancient Illyrian language
(encloyopedia britannica, 1999) . The Albanains and their language is one of
the oldest European languages and one of the nine Indo-European languages.

Can someone provide me with a list or link to TV and radio station locations within Kosovo? What kind of telephone service is provided in Kosovo? Is it modern or other?

From what I have been hearing on CNN and reading on your site, I hate
to say it, but I do not think the fighting is over for good. From what
I understand not only are there still Serb troops in Kosova, but the
Russians are trying to break their agreement with NATO, and FRY troops
are now massing on the borders of Montenegro. Considering all this, I
do not think the KLA should turn over all their weapons. I have no way
of knowing what is really going on, but from here it doesn't sound too
good.

continuation of a civil war. Since there was no
Yugoslavia or Kosovo before 1918 I can't see where they

All "Trepca" plants liberated
July 04, 1999

Driven Serb from K.Mitrovica whose house was seized by Albanians

Kosovska Mitrovica, 3rd July (Tanjug) - KFOR French troops launched
energetic actions and drove ethnic Albanian extremists and terrorists
out of all "Trepca" plants which they had seized in the last week in the
territory of the municipality of Kosovska Mitrovica.

"Trepca" security workers are now protecting the zinc metallurgy plant,
the batteries factory, factory of processing equipment, flotation in the
1st tunnel, and the Stari Trg mine.

French troops regularly tour the plants, which employ over 5,000
workers. The terrorists stole all office furniture and smaller machines
from these plants, which are in the southern part of the town, but this
has not affected production.

All plants and facilities of "Trepca" will begin full production on
Monday, as there is a sufficient supply of raw materials. "Trepca"
workers being bused to work outside town will have a French troop
escort.

                       RTP staff head back on the RTP building, KFOR does
not allow Prishtina radio and television staff headed today to
the Press and media palace in the centre of the town to return in
their jobs, but KFOR didn't allow them.

                   The staff gathered at around 9.00 in front of the
building, but they were stopped by KFOR forces.

                   Martin Çuni, representative of a Coordination
Council, presented the platform of talks of the council with the
representatives of the UN Mission in Kosova and KFOR.

                   RTP staff asked to be allowed to be again on the air
with programs in Albanian in the radio and television, from which
they were forced out on July 5, 1990.

                   They also stressed that the Press and Media Palace as
well as the transmitting frequencies, are properties of the
people of Kosova.

                   Prishtina radio and television has four primary TV
networks and 5 primary radio networks, registered from the
international radiodefusion organizations, as well as secondary
networks for broadcasting radio and TV programs.

                   According to the platform, the details for the
continuation of work of Prishtina radio and television, will be prepared in
cooperation with   the representatives of the UN Mission in Kosova and
KFOR, based on the national structure of the population of
Kosova.

NATO also plans to make sure that Serbia keeps control of the banks, so
the ninety percent non-Serb population will be forced to keep its money
there

DON'T FORGET:

1. At Pristina's Grand Hotel, NATO also kept stolen jobs and management
in hands of tiny Serb minorty that has enjoyed its privileges for ten
years.

2. British NATO troops deliberately shot two armed KLA members in the
back.

3. French KFOR troops are aiding in Clinton and NATO's planned partition
which would give control of much of Mitrovice, including especially the
mines to the Serbs.

The only way to prevent this strategy is to drive Serbs out with the
same kind of violence they used on Kosovans. Otherwise, NATO plans to
assure that they keep all their ill-gotten gains.

Boycott farm goods of Kosova Serb farmers.

Never forget that Kosova Serbs were the backbone of Milosevic's
electoral support and his strongly urged suppression of muslims so that
they can keep all the jobs they stole when Milosevic ended autonomy and
took away all rights for non-Serbs.

Many of those who hold these jobs were invited in after muslims were
cleansed. Others were promised the job if cleaning occurred. Others
are descended from Serbs deliberately resettled in Kosova in the days since the brutal l912 invasion.

TODAY ON THE NEWS I WATCHED THE KOSOVARS BURY THEIR FAMILYS,
IT WAS SAD, VERY SAD, I REMEMBER IN APRIL WHEN REPORTS OF
GENOCIDE WAS IN THE NEWS, HOW CAN HUMANS ACT LIKE THIS? THE
FAMILYS ARE IN MY PRAYERS.

I have just discovered your site and I am very grateful for all the

Europe - is organising a project for students in Prishtina. Initially the
project was intended to take place in Camp Radusa, Macedonia. Since

I am a retired US Army SSG. I fought in Vietnam. My father fought Hitler.
I am PROUD of what the US did for Kosovo.

President Clinton saw that another HITLER was on a rampage. He called NATO
together. He said, "Remember Hitler". They did.

The USA lead the charge, but the member states of NATO had a good memory.
Even Germany. They brought us Hitler. They would NOT allow another. For
the first time in history, the Luftwaffe flew for peace in Europe. How about
that?

I have written to Novi-Sad's radio station, the head of the Orthodox church
in America and a bunch of their money sites. I admonished them about what
they did in Kosovo and have not had a single reply.

Do you think that they may have actually done these HORRIBLE crimes? I do.

NATO did the RIGHT thing, at the RIGHT time for the Right reasons.
